This is very predictable. I picked the Aggies to win a close game. Just not quite as high scoring as I thought. USD just has no killer instinct and lost a game that they had no business losing. The Yotes very rarely put two games in a row together where they play well.

13 points won't win you too many games.

Very disappointing - USD should never lose a game when their Defense holds a team to 17!
Too many penalties, dropped passes, and passive play calling offensively. Our receivers were silent tonight! Tough Tough loss.
Really do not feel this was a good offensive game by anyone.
Also our announcer needs to call the opponent the correct name. They are not Cal Poly, and they are not Cal Davis. It is UC Davis. Bush league. Learn your conference!

The play by play is a little hard to deal with. We should have won this game. Crap!

the more i hear about OTHER announcers, the better i like ours. our broadcast was electric. i've never heard our stadium that loud, except when we beat Poly last year. we needed that big time.
this Great West is a pretty damn good confernce. all good teams. all great fans. i'm going miss the Dakota's....i hope we keep playing after we go to the Big Sky.

drmike, don't worry about it I appreciate you coming in. Davis got some revenge for 1986 but it would have been ironic had USD scored another winning touchdown late on a 4th down like in 1986. The key to beating the Yotes is to get them in a game that is truley decided in the last drive of the game or in OT. That is a 80% probability of winning. That is all the Aggies needed to do. USD didn't show enough poise on offense on the last drive.

According to our announcer Cal Poly just beat us. Can't wait for the rematch in a few weeks in Vermillion.

Penalties, turnovers, lack of urgency on the offensive side - all not good enough to win a game at this level against any team - let alone a team that is your equal talent wise.
No comment or interview from Meirkort. Come on. They had better button it down and get ready for UNI. They are going to come into Vermillion ready to repeat last years beat-down.

right now, i'd say Poly is the team to beat in the Great West. USD, UCD and SUU seem pretty equal -> its gonna come down to matchups and the little things (turnovers, penalties, etc). UND seems down. I don't see us beating Poly, but this defense has come out of nowhere after getting torched by Cal and Portland..so, who knows.
you guys get Poly at home, and they can't seem to stop anybody, so there is a hope. another wild year in the Great West!
funny..i'm the eternal Aggie optimist, and last week at halftime vs. San Jose i predicted a 2 win season. we turn it around there, and then win a gut-check tonight, and i'm a happy guy again!
come back next week and make the GWFC proud, yotes!

Not surprised that Ed refused to comment today.
This game is another example of woulda, coulda, shoulda but lost. USD came out in this game not too lose pure and simple. The bend but don't break defense didn't allow alot of scoring but what it did do was tire out the players therefor not allowing them to be very effective in the fourth quarter. By what RJ said it looked like the defensive backfield gave up way too much underneath which has been an achilles heel of the Yotes from years past. It seemed as if the offensive play calling was just too predictable especially when the game got into the most critical moments. When it comes to USD football we learn to expect exactly what we get. A team that plays well about every other week. Sometimes the team can look so good only to leave us head scratching the next week.
In 2 weeks either USD wins in Utah or the Great West race is over for the Coyotes. Isn't it amazing how backwards the offense has gone lately. From the second half of the UND game through the Davis game USD has looked anemic on that side of the ball.

Not a fan of bend but don't break, but from what I see - I think it is a result of the DL weakness - and lack of an effective pass rush from the OLBers. Bend but don't break held them to 17 bottom line and the defense held on that suicide attempt by the USD offense (fumble in the 4th Qtr deep inside our territory.) The defense let them move up and down, but hard to argue that this is a game the offensive playmakers did not step forward and win. If USD had scored tds instead of fgs the first two scoring opportunities holding UC Davis to 17 would look like a huge success.
This is on Wes and Co in my eyes. They had their opportunities.
On to UNI. REally hope the guys can rebound - scoring against the UNI defense will be no easier than tonight.

Cedar City is a TOUGH place to win...we got smoked there last year. I think we could beat them at our place this year, i think we beat UND up there, but lose to Poly at SLO. i could see you beating the stangs up there. getting out my crystal ball, i see the great west at: poly 4-1 davis 4-1 usd 3-2 suu 2-3 und 0-5
but..i might be WAY off!
