the water table in that area prevents digging below ground. Court would be at concourse level, with seats going up. The water table would be the same as the ground the dome sits on

That far down? Probably not.

It is back to original plans. Under ground. From horse's mouth.

I hope it's underground, and the same level as the dome. Having to climb up to the basketball arena doesn't have good flow.

I hope they have some of the money ear marked for a new sound system in the Dome. The current speaker system at the game yesterday was awful. Couldn't understand the announcer and the feedback when the referee tried to announce calls (which was a lot) was pretty embarrassing

I thought the same thing Dman. Was at the game yesterday and am watching the replay of the game on DVR now. That feedback was horrible. Shouldn't take any money to fix that, just a little pre-game preparation.
Also, way too many "U-S-D-Coyotes-Wooh Wooh" cheers from the guy who has his finger on that button. Cool it dude, you're really taking something cool and making it utterly lame and over-used.

In my opinion, turning it up a little would contribute to the overall energy in the dome.

I don't remember any feedback. Cranking the sound would be great though, really get the crowd going.

I don't think cranking it will help. Sound quality is horrible. Sounds like a bunch of mumbling.

In my opinion, turning it up a little would contribute to the overall energy in the dome. To me, the PA system was bad. I didn't audibly understand a single ref call. Also, I agree it used to be louder. Seemed like right before kickoff, they'd be cranking sandstorm and it would get LOUD in there. I think the crowd feeds off the volume. Also, did anyone else notice the last 10 minutes before the game was a little awkward? The band came out and just sort of stood there for a few minutes while nothing was going on. Then the motorcycle event pretty much did the same thing- they were just waiting, for..... I don't know what. Maybe that's what 5 weeks away from home does I suppose. That said, I'm thrilled to be complaining about this instead of the team's performance!

Yes, things were a bit out of sorts with the band, the motorcycle, etc... Hopefully things are a little tighter and more rehearsed this Saturday. Fix the PA and get the music cranking for kick-off....Going to be fun!

I heard that a speaker will be fixed in the dome this week in preparation for Youngstown.

I heard that a speaker will be fixed in the dome this week in preparation for Youngstown. I like that. Gonna make it loud when we get a shot at one of the two 1st place teams!

Are there any updates/rumors on what is happening with the facility plans? Was hoping to hear something more concrete before I got to AZ but no such luck. This summer the Argus was saying one thing and the Yankton and Sioux City papers were saying something else about siting the arena floor.
Not very happy with the lack of communication from our Athletic Department on such an important issue. If they are still trying to raise money it would make sense to have more news instead of less.
