From what I have heard, there will not be a game in Sioux Falls next year because the administration was completely disappointed with the turnover of USD fans.

That is why I put (potentially in SF) vs (in SF.) There has not been a final decision either way depending on what the SFSA offers and profitability. They are leaning towards not doing a FB game in SF next year.

I was actually surprised by the USD turnout. It appeared to be closer to 50-50 than I thought it was. Not saying I'm disappointed with no game in SF. If they do, they need to do something about the bathroom situation. Missing half a quarter waiting in line for the men's room is unacceptable. I did like watching football and drinking a beer or 2.

And we thought the Yotes had trouble scheduling games transitioning to D1!
I know this is a bit early in the game but the above schedule seems a little weird to me. The lack of games in September is puzzling. Four games in November each year seems a bit dicey what with our unpredictable weather.
That November 22 game in Brookings? Just saying there'll be some coughing alumni going on up there in that cold stadium if you get my drift....

SDSU vs USD will most likely always be one of the last two regular season games. SDSU wants either a USD or NDSU team in CAS late season to be an attendance draw. Imagine if we had SDSU in the Dome to end the year this year - we would have a record sellout crowd versus the 4-5k we will most likely see against UNI. I think having the game at that time is a great idea.
As far as the holes in the schedule early - there will be games added. I believe we can play 12 regular season games in '13 & '14. The only concern I have is it would be nice to have a bye week a few weeks into the MVFC to get some rest for our team.

Next season, no home games in September is going to hurt attendance. Ask UND how that went over up there a few years back. Students get on campus and go long enough without a game they forget there is a football team. Now, if we have a good team the late season home games are going to rock.

Yeah, a 13-week football season is upon us. Probably 8 games by the end of October (with one open date) and three more games in November. Also, I agree that the opponent for the last game will likely be a rival. However, l'm not necessarily comfortable with Mom Nature's take on this.
Personally, I'd rather have that rival game earlier in November after about 8 or 9 games. Chances are much better the weather will be cooperative for game watching (outside) and travel. Time will tell I guess.

School starts before August 31 next year, doesn't it? UC Davis is home. Also, I would bet my life Sayler will be looking for a home game to fill one of the two open weeks in September.

A great home schedule for 2013 with 6 home games - Davis & the Grizz in addition to the 4 MVFC games. 2014 has 5 home games with UND plus 4 MVFC games. Could do a home & home with a Big Sky team with 2014 at home & travel in 2013 or could buy a 2014 home game with Pioneer team like Drake or a Patriot team like Colgate

are those 2013 - 2014 schedules set for sure then? thanks They were posted by the AD, so they will happen unless one of our non-conference games backs out. MVFC schedule is obviously set for sure.

Jeremy Hoeck tweets that Sayler at today's Yankton QB meeting said no USD football games scheduled in Sioux Falls for 2013.
