www.collegeathletictrainer.org/newsletter/article.php?article=2"A medical disqualification or medical non-counter is a different situation. This involves a medical condition in which the student-athlete is advised to not ever further participate in intercollegiate athletics. If this situation is approved, the student-athlete may retain their grant-in-aid at the discretion of the institution for the remainder of their four to five year college experience. The next academic year, the student-athlete doesn’t count toward the maximum number of grants allotted to a team. If the student-athlete subsequently practices or returns to competition at that institution, he or she will “count†the entire inactive period unless a waiver is granted by the NCAA Management Council." I may have used the wrong terminology. Medical non-counter is what Tecker is. See the above.

I saw on Goyotes.com the BB Roster includes Vlad Stoicoviciu, 6-5 G, Romania, Cairo American College. I didn't see a news release, does anyone have additional info?

When is Boots going to recruit a true center with the ability to plug the middle of the match up zone?

I think the 6-10 freshman from Senagal is a good start for that.

If they keep playing that match up zone they will never win a game. Zone defenses are garbage and very few teams at the D-1 level have been able to use them consistnantly and effectively. I see that he is starting to recruit bigger guards which is a step in the right direction if they want to match up with anyone at all. I love the players we have but we are just to small and we get overpowered, especially at the guard position. Not to mention that we have Zero depth at the 4 or 5 position so our lone big guy has to play the whole game and is wore out by the end. Most of the other summit league teams have 2-3 big guys that they can play, although usually 1 gets the bulk of the minutes. It still helps to get them a breather every once and a while.

A match up zone works well to prevent you from having to utilize 9, 10 or 11 players deep.
