Two tweets from Stu:
@stuwhitney: Marlette attended NDSU individual camp in Fargo today. His brother, Tim, is Washington alum who recently finished football career at USD. ----------------------------------------------------
@stuwhitney: Marlette said he'll play linebacker in college but doesn't expect to make decision anytime soon. Will be a senior with Warriors in 2013.
----------------------------------------------------
Great family - Hope he decides to head to USD and be a major part of the Coyote Football rebuild. He is the type of player that we need to come our way. SDSU and USD both have to win these recruiting battles for local talent.

They are a fantastic family - sorry to see him head North. Wish him well and hope he has a wonderful career.

Gameday Fargo.
Everyone I talked to thought it was such a great thing. NDSU's success means they can come into SoDak and sign what few D1 prospects we have. That's a shame for both us and State. Well, here is a result of all that success up north.
In other news I have heard it's between SDSU and NDSU for the prospect from Vermillion. Don't know if that's fact, just the rumor. Forget putting up a fence around the state, we can't even keep Verm kids home.

I find that hard to believe, considering how god awful VHS has been the last 7 or 8 years. We need NDSU to go dwell in the FBS or something. That would keep them away from the South Dakota kids.

Forget putting up a fence around the state, we can't even keep Verm kids home. Losing a local kid may not mean a thing and I've thought that chances are pretty high a local kid will want to stretch out and move away from his hometown for school. I don't think it's a negative reflection on USD. I recall some years back when Chad Stark, running back from Brookings High School, went north to NDSU and had an outstanding career -- there was a little hand-wringing in Brookings but I think the decision is understandable.
