Yotes go 3 and out when they really needed to get something going. Western Illinois gets it back.

My goodness, special teams. Coyotes line up to punt, snap goes over punters head and the Leathernecks scoop it up and get a touchdown. Now it's 10-0. That is inexcusable, especially in a game where points are going to be at a premium.

Yotes just picked up a big 4th down and are now driving in W Ill territory. Josh scrambles for another 4th down conversion. Now at the 19 yard line. JVM is using his legs to do a lot of damage on this drive. The passing game isn't clicking but the running game is starting to click just a bit.

Drive bogs down and a short 27 yard field goal makes it 10-3.

Couldn't we find a long snapper from the dorms, maybe some kid that played some football in high school. Open competition tryout.

Good job defense with a 3 & out and bailing out Special Teams after allowing a kick return to midfield just before the half.

Correction, combined for 13 first downs and 196 yards total offense. The Live Stats link had not updated, but nevertheless, a defensive struggle.

In other action
NDSU is leading SDSU 13-0 in the 4th quarter in what is likely a sloppy field game in Brookings.

The three question marks coming into the season, QB play, OC playcalling and ST play continue to be question marks and are becoming redder red flags the further the season goes on.

Now a sack and the Yotes go backwards. The defense can only do so much. They have held W. Ill to 3 points and are getting pretty much nothing from the offense in help. The good thing is that the punt pinned Western back to their 5 yard line.
