Welcome letsgoguins. You have quite the coaching staff. Mangino, Stoops etc.. Your head coach was certainly getting some heat last year but has put together a great year in 2013. What has changed this year?

What has changed this year? Special teams are vastly improved. I feel we have one of the absolute best punters in the FCS and we have yet to miss a FG or XP all year. Additionally, our defense isn't great, but it above average. We are giving up 22 ppg, while scoring 37 ppg.

We didn't win against Illinois State, but I still liked what I saw. Just need to stop giving the other team such good field position, while also executing better on offense. We are close to being quite good on offense, our defense is top notch, but our special teams has been a bad liability. I think that coming back home will be good for the team, and hopefully they aren't on a big letdown after suffering a loss. Youngstown looks to be a very good team, but a beatable team. I haven't looked too hard at comparing their team against ours, but we can hang with anyone in the Dome.
Any wins from here on out will be big wins, and I want some big wins! Go Yotes!

I think the YSU record is a result of a weak schedule,so imo the Yotes will beat them 28-24.

You guys only put 14 on them and lost for what it is worth. Go YSU!

USD gave YSU a rough time last year and lost by only 3 so I'm sure that they are a formidable foe especially @ home---they also have an impressive home victory over ISU this year 17-14 and gave WIU a rough time before losing 24-10--that unworthy 10th or 11th spot makes them a huge target to show the world that the Yotes are back and no longer the joke of the MVFC.

Clearly Illinois State has some road issues, as we do too. Our Dome is usually very tough for visitors to win in (we'll see if that tradition continues in the MVFC), in the last 10 years we've only had one defeat by more than 7 at home and two years ago we beat #1 EWU easily and we weren't even good that year. College football is a funny game.

I was cautiously optimistic last week. Didn't work out. Against UNI I was pretty confident we would win, turned out to be correct. Why was I confident? It was a dome game. We just play better indoors.
I am very confident we will win this week against YSU. The Dakota Dome is turning back into that snake pit where good teams come to lose.

Wacky year in conference with teams beating up on each other. Every road game is tough in this conference unless you are NDSU. Will be a good test for both teams and big chance for the Yotes to prove their toughness and continue the climb to the top tier of this conference. I have not seen much on this, but update on Bouma? playing, out, etc?

Is it possible for the person that starts these game day threads to learn the abbreviation for versus? It is vs., not v.s.
The first one was excusable, but there have been several now.
Come on, we aren't SDSU journalism grads, right?
