Just for the record, SDSU had 3900 for their game against Indiana in round 4. We had far more. They had 3250 in round 3. We had far more. They never played at home in round 5 but they lost on the road. Having 7000-7500 at our game obliterated anything they've done. It goes to show it can be done. Wrong again. Jacks. Yotes First round - 1812. 1960 Round of 16- 3320. 2433 Round of 8- 3792. 2749 As far as your crowd of 7000, how many free tickets are giving away? This is so interesting, but you didn't finish. Please update the Final 4 and Championship rounds...

By the way things look now, we will smash last night attendance numbers! I'm was thinking about the game last night and there were some incredible plays but I think my favorite play of the night happened away from the ball and I bet many people didn't see it. It was the middle of the second quarter when the game was still very competitive. Seekamp was guarding #10 for the Ducks and was all over her. #10 passed the ball off and once she got rid of it, she gave Nicole a little bit of a shove out of frustration. Nicole just turned and smiled at her. I knew right then that it was the Yotes game all the way. We had them flustered and we were having a blast. To me that one little play was a perfect microcosm of the entire night. The passion and fun these ladies play with is something truly special. I'm glad I have had the opportunity to watch all year and it is even better that more and more people are taking notice. This, a thousand times. The way Coach Williams and the entire team have conducted themselves from the moment of the big upset in the SLT,and every day since, is a great life lesson for the team and for all of us who follow them closely. Responding to disappointment, with a plan and passion! Go Yotes! and thank you, bring it all home for a grand Dakota Dome finale!

Next year is a long way off, only thing to be certain about is that the Jacks will be over-rated and the Yotes will be under-rated.

Please, stop. I'm laughing so hard it hurts, I'm not sure which is funnier the thin-skinned, overly-confident Jacks fans crying like babies or the Argus Leader trying to run cover for them with a "news" article. Pure gold!! I guess, I should cut them some slack, it is their RIVAL after all...

They keep referring to themselves as fiscally responsible. Sell says it in the article; the (uninformed) folks on their board say it. Their new stadium is Exhibit A of not being fiscally responsible. They are building it to be larger than NDSU, but they might sell it out once a year and a TON of those folks will be from Fargo (a similar comment they make about USD). They plan to pay for it with ticket sales - sure. They are spending principal dollars from their foundation. But, but, but, when they get invited to the WAC they need a seating capacity that big! No, you need an average attendance of 15,000 for FBS. 2014 avg for SDSU - 10,934. USD - 8,409. NDSU - 18,571. fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/football_records/Attendance/2014.pdffs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/football_records/Attendance/2013.pdfYou want to talk fiscal responsibility? You only need to look one place - the difference in the way the foundations operate. USD will not spend principal dollars. Period. The wide gap in the size of the foundations says it all. But keep claiming USD doesn't have the money for FCOA and whatever else. For the econ majors, I realize you probably can't comprehend finance. Principal is the actual dollars that are donated. Interest is the money earned from those dollars in the market. Oh no...I opened a can of worms. The market is...well, just think of it as the place where people buy your grain and cattle... The facts are this: USD is getting funding from students - Yes. Those funds are earmarked for NEW staff salaries and increases over the next three years. No funds are being "shifted" from anywhere - that doesn't work, if you understand math, or accounting. I guess the College does have econ majors though - that is basically a business school. USD still has to maintain the current budget - you can't "shift" funds that are already set to be spent. The only way to "shift" funds is to cut something OR to not pay/hire the staff in the manner they have pledged. Well, I have seen Nielson's salary. I have seen the increase in staff this year; the planned hires for next year; the hires for the year after that. Where is the shift??? It is like talking to petulant children. Money spent is money spent. If a line item goes down, THEN you can cry foul. News flash - it isn't going to happen. Do they teach accounting in the econ class? Ag-Business just tells you to hire a cheap tax guy, buy a ton of equipment at the end of the year, accelerate the depreciation and then bitch to the government for a subsidy. I would guess you have heard the term 179 before... Donations are up and the University is supporting the move. ONWARD is doing well, because we have AMAZING people working on it. Our foundation staff is second to none. How is this so hard to comprehend for SDSU? Further, the Howling Pack is increasing by over 10% per year. I hope ANY member of this board that is a USD supporter will give to the Howling Pack, even if it is just a little bit. $100 per year is all it takes - pay it monthly if you have to. This is how the big boys play. There is no magic ticket sales money or athletics funding fairy. As an example, the MINIMUM donation to buy tickets at Nebraska this year is $150/seat for nose bleeds and obstructed view - anything worth a damn is $500-2500/seat. GET ON BOARD! One of the best posts I've read on the board, way above Smack standards

Welcome to the social media world of hiring a college football coach. None of us really know what is going on and there is alot of misinformation thrown around. It will all shake out soon enough. Agreed. Rumors and inuendos usually come from people with an agenda - pro or con. We don't know how many people were on the original target list, who or how many were interviewed etc. David Sayler was interviewed and hired at some distant airport lounge. Agreed on both of these posts, I don't believe the entire list is public yet and if indeed we missed on Nielson, I think it was a well taken risk to go after him. As a previous poster stated it would have been a "coup", which by its definition is a little messy. I doubt we will end up with a coach by default, in Daves we trust!

The impressive part of the win was that it really was a well-deserved win, nothing "fluke" about it. No big TOs, blown calls, statistically close, with Coyotes leading most categories. Like coach said, "they didn't give us anything, we earned it", true that!
I have high regard for the Bison, and I am sure that they look at it as a lack of execution on their part, and they might be right on that. But the Coyotes can and should move forward with the belief that this is how they can play any opponent in the Valley. A big step forward.
I know it won't mean much until they do it week after week, so let's go Bear hunting. Go Yotes!

Just because I know all of you care so much, the Jacks came in at #43 in the nation (ranking #1 in the Summit) in College Sports Madness Top 44 preseason rankings and preview. Everyday they will unveil the next team in the rankings. www.collegesportsmadness.com/article/11947One mistake they made is that they list Thompson as a Senior instead of a Sophomore. That and $5 bill will get you coffee at Starbucks... Thanks for posting, I don't have to read it to see there's more than 1 mistake made!

Nice work again by Jeremy.
From the time the University decided to go D1, I fully expected that USD would do things the right way, and our athletics would soon be, just like the university, "the pride of the Western plains". This track and field complex, like the arena, (and I'm fairly certain, the revised Dakota Dome, when its turn comes) are proof positive.
The performance of our athletes is also gaining momentum, as always, it's a great day to be a Coyote!

I don't know where Notre Dame is in VB either, but Purdue is a ranked team and the Yotes played them tough also!
