Guessing the bunny posters will be appearing on here soon to let us know how wrong we all are again and point out that only they can watch basketball with objectivity. Yeah, not a big deal on the headlines, but this is so true... And you didn't have to wait very long for it, either.

Just compared the articles written by the Argus after the defeat of the two SD teams... "Hawkeyes' Strong Second Half Dooms Coyotes" vs "Gonzaga Surges in Second Half to Beat SDSU" Ok... maybe I'm reading these headlines through rose colored lenses, but does it sounds like, from reading these two headlines, that the Yotes never had a chance and Gonzaga had to really turn it up to beat the bunnies? In both games the SD teams were down by 4 at the half... Happy to receive criticism if it's just the way I am interpreting this... Guessing the bunny posters will be appearing on here soon to let us know how wrong we all are again and point out that only they can watch basketball with objectivity. You're more easily offended by imagined slights than an Antifa protester on their period. Kinda the biggest difference would be that the Jacks did it against the #1 seed in the NCAA tourney while the yotes did it against a team that didn't even qualify. Those darn technicalities. Leave it to Thumper to rub A RABBIT LOSS in our faces. "at least our first round loss was to a better team...." I'm starting to think that you spend more time on the Coyote board than the rabbit one. Weird.

My only disappointment with the MBB season I rest squarely on the USD Alumni. We did not do and have not done a good enough job making the SL tournament even a neutral court situation when playing SDSU. Make all the excuses you want about SDSU locking up all the tickets, but any reasonable person knows we could do better. The game against SDSU wasn't even a sellout. USD alumni and fans should have bought every available seat left. The true "home" team won that game last week - SDSU's fans impacted the fortunes of their team. It is up to the USD fans to make plans to bring more friends to next year's games. The players stepped up big time this year, we fans have a little less than a year to prepare to do better for the 2018 tournament. I know we can do it.

The USD crowd was very good for the men at the Summit Tourney this year in both noise made and in numbers in the seats. The Coyotes aren't going to go from having 1,500 a game to over 6,000 a game in one year but the Yote fans made a lot of progress this year in the tourney for the Men. I wasn't as impressed with the Women's crowd or noise made. For over half the game the cheers from the red were roaring and were out doing the Jacks crowd despite a 60-40 disadvantage. The crowd advantage that is usually huge for SDSU was only by the slimmest of margins for that Monday night game. The atmosphere was something that did not bother me. It was the officiating that turned the game around and is the reason the Coyotes aren't preparing to play a #2 or #3 seed this week. The officiating in that game is something that should not be forgotten by Yote fans. No Corruptmmit League bias for the Jacks today.

Without looking, I'm sure you can attribute the tone of the headlines to the writers. Mick sounds like he struggles to write a positive piece in a win. The state guy has to have a positive article for every single game or he'd be berated by their fans (see the response to the Spokane piece).

That is what high schoolers do. Every close game loss can be blamed on the ref as can every win. Get over it. We lost. And blaming the Summit League for the loss just makes you look like a total idiot.

Once the Coyotes get a fair shake with the calls and once they decide to start calling the game equally (and not give Daum every call) then I will relax and that means games at the Corruptmmit Tournament which is about 11.5 months away. I suggest the ignore option if that doesn't seem too appealing to you.

I've got to say, I wonder if we have the chicken and egg backwards here. SDSU fan's primary reason for getting tickets (for a large number anyway) is the 4 day party - kind of like a basketball Hobo days. Then they also cheer for their team or against USD in between beers. So many drunk people in blue t-shirts. I bet everyone one of us had fun on that Saturday night session - hanging out having drinks with friends that you don't see often - just like D-Days. Maybe we need to shift the tone of SLT tickets from "come support your team, damn it" to "buy all session passes because it is a blast AND you can also cheer on the Yotes". Make it about the event, not just the basketball games? Just a thought...

Baby steps, and we took a good number of them this year. Stop with all the negativity over the disparity in fans at the tournament. The Athletic Department has done its job of putting a great product on the court, and the fans are slowly waking up. Quit beating us over the head with the Jacks' fan advantage. I think there was a lot of progress made this year.

Think of it as spring break for middle aged folks. That's funny and a good idea. Many of us stayed sober, and a surprising number of us don't cheer against the coyote's. But, you're getting the idea.

wrj-- You're generally pretty rational for a state poster. Curious what the mood on the state fan board is regarding the men's play and loss against the Zags? I was surprised Daum and Tellie played poorly and that the Zags couldn't hit the broad side of a barn (pun intended) the first half.

Regarding headlines again, the Argus did do the women's NIT headlines as follows:
SDSU women's game: SDSU women's basketball advances in WNIT
USD women's game: Coyote women roll past Fighting Hawks
I mean... "roll past?" Come on. That's way less exciting and way more negative than simple and boring "advances." Freakin' biased Argus writers. Ugh.
(Kidding.)
