I know this was talked about during football games I believe, but people asking you to sit down and cheer when we were on defense with a tied or 2 point game???!!?? Come on...
Taylor Frederick played a fantastic game. I also thought Monica Arens played a pretty darn good game.

Great game. I was there and I thought the 4k attendance was pretty accurate, maybe a a little under. Seems like some students left towards the end. Overall the atmosphere was good and many people got up and cheered for the entire 4th quarter. State is obviously a good team, but what the Yotes did was very impressive. To go undefeated which hasn't been done since 94 I believe is awesome. Getting the #1 seed is very helpful to avoid WIU in the semi's. No matter how the regular season went if they get hot they are dangerous and I am glad the Yotes will avoid them. If USD and SDSU makes the finals and it is another close game, no matter who wins I feel the SL is a two bid league in WBB. There hasn't been much talk about USD getting an at large bid but there are a couple of intangibles that I think the committee will look at that might help the Coyotes. At least help them not get their resume tossed in the trashcan in the first 5 minutes of the committee discussion. If they get to the Summit League final and I think the Coyotes will than they would be on a 20 game winning streak. They would also have finished 14-0 in league play. Those are two factors that could be helpful. The RPI might be a little on the weak side but the NCAA should like teams that are hot coming in. I wonder if we were to lose in the SL championship game by 2 after a 20 game winning streak if we would still have a chance. Any people that know much more than I do have an informed opinion on this?

Great conference season for Coyote WBB to go undefeated. It is back to the drawing board for Jackrabbits in order to derail the tough defense in the SLT.

That was a pretty incredible win. When it was 69-60 my wife said it was over. I said there was plenty of time left but I was hoping more than believing. Just incredible resiliency. Up and down the lineup you could point to all nine players who saw the floor and point out a big-time contribution.
The Arens sisters in the third quarter made some great plays to keep their team around when it wasn't looking great.
Frederick playing big minutes and her pick and roll defense were huge.
Lamb just gutting two clutch free throws? Huge.
Bradley hit one 3 in particular there that kept her team in striking distance when things weren't looking good.
And Trimboli ... I mean what more can you say at this point?
That was just a great win. Now let's hope Duffy stays out of foul trouble and everybody is on fire in the third match-up.

Great game and a fun atmosphere! The entire season USD has not had to rely on one player to carry the team so on any given night it could be any player that makes the plays to provide the win. That was of utmost importance last night. All five player on the floor can be the play maker every trip down the floor which wears down defenses because they have to guard all 5 positions every trip otherwise they will get burned. USD never looked rattled even when they got down by 11. They stuck to the system and fought back. They are a tough group of kids and the freshman came in a played great.

From what I understand we would not have a shot at an at large, which is a shame. Sounds like State probably won't be getting an at large anymore, but there is a better possibility of them getting an at large than us getting an at large. It's kind of ridiculous, because both teams should be in the Big Dance.

Probably because to be in the running for an at-large would mean another loss in the SLT, most likely to the same team a 3rd time with a lower RPI so their RPI would drop them out of contention.

Maybe, it could also stay the same just as it did after this loss.

The RPI is too heavily weighed on the scheduled. wins and losses don't seem to matter very much. I look at quality wins way more highly than losses again tough programs. to me a loss is a loss. A team that loses to Uconn by 50 if they played them 20 times does not necessarily make them a good team.

Noticed no one brought it up, so I will. I think if that was a 60 minute game, or 50, or 45, the Yotes win by double digits, and it was not a scenario where the rabbits 'had the game' and then somehow USD stole it from them. It was 40 minutes, and that was enough time, but SDSU peaked in the 3rd quarter. The better depth - in terms of fresh legs and talent of those fresh legs - caught up in the 3rd quarter. When Miller or Guebert sit, there is a clear drop off for the rabbits, and when they got tired the TO's (and a couple dumb fouls) started to add up. Even with Duffy minimized with foul trouble the depth won the game. That is really impressive.
My confidence in winning in the SLT actually skyrocketed after last night. 3 games in 4 days clearly favors the Yotes, and we saw it play out on a smaller scale last night.

Depth and versatility are so huge for this team.
I've got to say that I am also getting more and more excited for what Lamb is going to do for this program over the next few years. The flashes she has shown offensively have been fairly obvious all year, but her defensive versatility last night (moving between Selland and Miller on a few possessions I recall) was impressive.

Agree on Lamb. Early in the year she seemed indecisive on both ends. Last month or so has been very confident and poised in all situations. Her dribbling has improved but against better pg defenders, she makes me nervous sometimes.

I think against real standout PG defenders everybody's going to get a bit nervous at times, particularly true freshmen.
But I also think Lamb will be fine. To go from bringing the ball up the floor against Ipswich to bringing it up against South Dakota State is an adjustment a lot of players couldn't ever make. She seems to have completely handled it in a matter of months.
