Reported attendance at the game last night was 2,144. It would be great if we could get around 4,000 (or more) at the game Thursday. I doubt MSU would be expecting an environment like that. I was watching the Toledo- MSU game last night with some people who work in athletic administration and they were rooting hard for Michigan State because they thought playing a school with that name recognition would boost attendance. Hope they're right! Definitely! I assume you recall the insanity surrounding our semifinal game against Oregon two years ago. Guarantee it wouldn't have been near that fervor if we had drawn UTEP instead. Playing power teams in Vermillion is uncommon and very exciting.

Part of the equation for deciding who hosts is the fans in attendance. If we win this game against Michigan State, our next opponent could very well be New Mexico. They have to win tonight, and then one more game, but that would put them in our sitgts. Because they play in The Pit, and there are no professional sports in Albuquerque, they draw a lot of fans for both men’s and women’s basketball. They also have promotions to try to increase their attendance - recently they had a $5 per seat promotion for a game. We need to combat that by filling the stands Thursday night. The coaches should get the other athletes to come out. When you have the football players and the men’s basketball players come out to cheer for the ladies, other students follow. Spread the word! Looks like you can stream the New Mexico/Rice game on the Lobos’ website at 8 PM central. Any idea if it’s a free feed?

Looks free to me: player.watchstadium.com/webapp/newmexico/index.html#/live/129218?school=119&live_section=1&archive_section=1It's through Stadium, and I believe that's who I watched the USD-SJSU game with back in November or December.

The lobos streams have always been free. They have a new outfit (Stadium) doing the stream this year instead of the Mountain West network, and some mountain west fans have complained that it is not as consistent as the old ones were. But it is free.

I just watched the 2nd quarter and New Mexico leads 41-25. To the VERY untrained eye it looks as though this is a team we can play with. I know we have to beat Michigan State first, and I get that, but I likemour odds of advancing. 2016 all over again?

Just wait till the end of the game though, because New Mexico has been known to blow some really big leads this year. The good thing about if they were to play the lobos is that Hannah was a Lobo last year. She knows some of their plays still, and she knows the strengths and weaknesses of their players because she played with them and practiced with them all last year. Other than the freshmen, of course... And from all the games that I’ve watched this year, They are quick, but they can be hot or cold. Their game rides on whether or not Cherisse and Tesha are hot from the three-point line, And on Jaisa and Cherisse not getting in foul trouble.

TCU seems to have a pretty dangerous team, I don't know that focus on New Mexico is really warranted yet (especially considering we still need to advance).

President Abbott just made a pledge to pay for every single students ticket for the women’s game tomorrow night. That gesture alone should pack the student section as a way to say thank you to a great President

That gesture alone should pack the student section as a way to say thank you to a great President I hope you are right! Each student that goes adds exponentially to the atmosphere of the event. Probably worth 1.5 to 2 of us old people . I looked again at the seat map for sold tickets, and I'm guessing there are right at around 2,000 sold, not counting the students, band, or any walk-in sales. I hope we can push the number over 3k, but I'm skeptical after seeing all the returned season ticket allotment/first option. New mexico had over 3k at their round-2 game, and will now host TCU Thursday. Watching a little of the game, that was a boisterous crowd. Hoopsmom wasn't kidding.

Maybe it's like high school when students get in free to all the games until the postseason because the schools need to give the SDHSAA a cut? I know the GOAT bought all the student tickets for the CBI game last week as well.
