Seriously? Did this program desecrate an Indian burial ground during the offseason?

Why does midco keep acting like State has won 7 of the last 8 meetings. Have we not won the last 2 years at home?

And why does Kelly keep firing up 3 pointers? I would say him hitting that first one was bad for us, but I'm pretty sure he would be firing them up regardless. Maybe he is a much better shooter than what he's shown this year and that's why he keeps shooting this year.

Umude looking good early. I can't believe we wasted his redshirt last year.

We might as well fire up a 3 every time down the court. It seems we throw it away every time we try to make a pass to someone in the lane. This is some truly awful passing going on. Just keep jacking the 3 I guess.

Daum has 2 points and we are getting whipped. They don't seem to need him in this game. State is in a zone and we keep having to settle for 3s but for some reason our best 3 point shooter only played 7 minutes. We need me ore Armstrong this half.

Game is finally getting away from us with 12 minutes left in the game. It never felt like we were in this one, but it was single digits most of the way to this point. I honestly wasn't even expecting that. And that was before we knew TBM would be out.
I think our best possible finish to this year would be to win a game in Sioux Falls. Hope we can develop the younger talent along the way.

A reason for settling for a 3, they don’t have to worry about anybody inside. We will be ok in the future. Smith took everything away from us when he left. Coach Lee will ok

Coach Lee will ok we might be ok in the future but I disagree about Smith taking everything away. I don't think he took any players off the roster. The only two players he got were two recruits that got their scholarship pulled by Lee because he didn't think they could play at USD. We are a really bad offensive team. We made some terrible, lazy passes that were getting tipped or stolen a lot. That probably helped encourage us to shoot even more 3s, and we aren't a very good 3 point shooting team. Armstrong might not even have a very good 3 point percentage I don't know, but he's probably the only one we have that when he shoots it I think "oh, that's going in." Whenever anyone else hits a 3 I'm kind of surprised.

Bottom line: we're now playing without the two seniors who are/were arguably the best players on the team, could have very well have been the two leading scorers and quite possibly both been named to the all-conference team. Any mid-major is going to struggle under those circumstances. I feel horrible for TBM and hope he has a few games in him at the end, but I see another Carlton situation here. Really, really hope I'm wrong. On a positive note the freshmen, Robinson and Johns, will be getting a baptism of fire that should pay off next season plus we'll get Hagedorn back. Keep the faith.

Going into this game, I had a good feeling. When I saw TBM out, it reminded me of when Flack was out for the game at SDSU his senior year when we lost on a (travel) buzzer beater by Daum. Unfortunately, we didn't put up the fight like we have in the past. This game was a disappointment. We even got Daum in foul trouble, but it had zero impact on the game.
I feel like a lot of people are just throwing in the towel with injuries for this season. I refuse to believe that. Last years team went through pretty much the entire conference season without Carlton who was without a doubt one of the best defenders in the conference, if not the best. They still won 26 games and lost in the Championship. The year before that, Flack (1st team all league) was injured for 7 games and they still won conference. I loved the fight these guys have shown in the past and I'm hoping they continue that trend this season.

I heard Joe say on the radio before that game that Trey could've been used in an emergency tonight, so maybe it isn't as bad as we think?

I heard Joe say on the radio before that game that Trey could've been used in an emergency tonight, so maybe it isn't as bad as we think? Would he have played with the boot on? It wouldn't make much sense for him to play if it risked further, long term injury, but I'm sure the staff knows what it's doing.
