SDSU beats #24 K-State. A good win for them as they didn’t necessarily run away with it. This will probably be one of their last closish games until later this season. I’m not really sure who, if anyone, is going to challenge them.
NDSU lost by 18 to Green Bay.

In fairness, yote18 didn't say SDSU would win all the games, just that they wouldn't be very close.

But I honestly forgot about your game with SC which definitely will be a challenge for you. But I still don’t expect the final score to very close, no hate to SDSU as they’re good and I think they’ll stick with them for the first half but SC is an entirely different level of good.

NDSU, watched the Green Bay game they sure struggled in game but Green Bay did good job shutting down Hamlin and they made post players work for shot inside. NDSU freshmen players made mistakes you expect out of young players but they are good players expect that to improve. My feeling there is not a lot separating 2-5 teams and anyone of them on given night will be able to beat each other.SDSU in my opinion is going to win the conference and only thing if one of teams could pull upset at home Rabbits and I don’t think I would take that bet. I should qualify that as long as Rabbits remain healthy for the season. It’s going to be interesting season in there are teams built to go inside like NDSU and ORU, there are up tempo teams like USD and Denver and then you have teams like KC and UND trying to play good defense to turn ball over create scoring opportunities and several teams using variation of different styles. I look forward to coming conference season and to see if any of our teams will get selected to play in post season come spring.

Well obviously I was being a bit tongue in cheek with that statement. I don't think many realistic SDSU fans expect us to really give them a tight game, but then one never knows either. I certainly wouldn't be shocked by a big loss as SC is an great team. And frankly SDSU hasn't really found it's groove yet despite a couple of top 25 wins. Lucky P. Meyer is starting to practice again so hopefully she can start to work back into the starting line-up come conference time.

Humbling. Is this rock bottom for the Yotes? I hope so. Any lower and we will be getting sand kicked in our faces by teams we have dominated for years. It would be easy to make some excuses about strength of schedule, but... We really haven't accomplished much yet. I'm hoping this is the part of the movie where we see the coach and players do some introspection, followed by a training montage with some cheesy inspirational music.... I think with the NET formula, SDSU should be able to get into at-large territory by the end of the season, maybe earlier. They should cut through this weakened conference like a hot knife through butter. The only question is will any team pull it together enough to be a threat to knock off the Jacks in the SLT? Maybe. It's a long season. I won't put any money on it, though. And what the heck is going on at St Thomas? They have had the weakest non-con schedule, so they could be paper tigers. But, they DID just play Wisconsin, and only lost by 8.

Not to be too pessimistic but I don’t think we’ve hit our rock bottom yet. Our conference foes see our struggles and are still going to Have it out for us. This is the first time in almost a decade where we’re not a top team they see this opportunity and I expect them to take it out on us.

... And just like that, USD is looking like easily a top-4 team in the conference again...
All of the Dakota-4 are now 2-0 in conference play, dispatching opponents by double-digits in 7 of the 8 games.

The climb back to relevance for the Yotes in the conference has begun. USD is squarely in the middle-tier, as far as the NET ratings are concerned. Even more importantly: we are 2-0 in conference play. Our next games will be on the road at WIU and UST, then we get the North Dakota schools at home. That should be a good mid-season measuring stick. If we keep playing like the last couple of games, I like our chances for a 2-seed or 3-seed in the SLT. SDSU's NET score appears to be jumping in leaps and bounds, as the "net efficiency" score increases. This will slow somewhat as the Summit takes a toll on the SOS part of the equation, but as long as they keep winning with healthy margins, I will predict their NET rank will keep creeping upward, as it did for us last year. I think the odds of being deep into at-large territory by the end of the season are pretty good, provided they don't suffer a couple of upsets along the way. St Thomas and ORU are interesting. I think UST is improved and very solid, but probably not top-5 worthy yet. ORU appears to be one of the "dangerous" teams that can pull an upset, but not consistently. Both of those teams should have the full attention of their opponents. The rest of the conference looks weaker than last year, I think.

I agree with most of your assessment on the conference and I think we will get pretty much have idea where the upper tier teams in the conference will be in the next two weeks. I have followed your board for while I never thought you all were making out lately that you had such bad team and earlier this year I also didn’t think you would be as good as you were last year. But getting back to the conference I still believe SDSU is going to be top of the conference. The spots 2-5 I don’t know this may not be determined until end of the season and how teams progress through the season and how we match up against one another. Here at North Dakota as fan I am excited of how we have played but i also see our weaknesses but I also see weaknesses in teams I believe that are 2-5. I think as whole the conference is probably is better 1-6 this year but you guys have slipped some this year but I believe everyone is better than last year. This why responding here and I I would like to see your analysis of what I think of the conference, I also have scenario I wonder about what would happen if you say one teams pulled upset of SDSU in conference tournament would Summit get two entries into the NCAA tournament if Sdsu continues or improves net ranking just question.

Yeah, I agree that 1-6 are improved. 7-10 are probably worse this year, which won’t help SDSU’s SOS.
I agree that 2-5 (with ORU) is hard to know how things will go. I like the way we have looked over the last couple of games, but I’m still a little gunshy in saying we will be playing that way consistently. As you said, matchups might be key in determining the 2-5 seeds.
As for SDSU, I don’t know the odds of them suffering an upset, but the ORU close call, and the loss to Montana State were both quite surprising. I think the NET ranking is a little more resilient to an upset loss than the RPI is, but the NCAA committee will be looking at “bad losses”, so that could hurt them if it happens.
I will say this: the odds of AJ getting upset in the regular season are much higher than him getting upset in the SLT. He doesn’t lose much in Sioux Falls. (Other than the last three years)

I was looking at Western Illinois website and, on their website if you click the i con for tv on their schedule of games and it appears that they have free access to watch their games. I don't know the quality of the broadcast, but it appears that you can watch the game for free.
