Tough loss for the Yotes but I'm excited by the potential the ladies showed in this game. The Cyclones are the #22 team in the nation and the Yotes went toe to toe with them. Take away the bad stretch after the technical foul and the Yotes have a chance to win it at the end. I can't wait to watch them in person next week at the Pentagon.

Coyotes playing well. I'm really enjoying the Cal State play by play guy gripe about Hartington traveling every time she touches it. "Harrington has no idea about a pivot foot!" Seekamp looks good as expected. I'm liking what I see out of Hemiller. It will be nice if she can step and fill some of the void left by Yackley. I also am impressed by Contreras' ability to create scoring opportunities for herself. It's a good way to start the season. Keep it rolling ladies. Go Yotes!

I think we need moe of this in the world of sports. Every year we hear of guys screwing up and most people say that they need 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. chances because they are high caliber athletes. In my mond, I athletes should be held to the same if not higher standard as everyone else. If an average student committed some of the offenses we see in college sports today, they would be expelled. No questions asked.

Bergner needs to go. I understand that he is a true freshman, but you can either kick or you can't. A field goal percentage below 50% is unacceptable and he is well below even that. If he was a high school All-American, it's scary to think how bad all the rest of the high school kickers in the country were last year.

Great win for the Yotes. I'm glad to see the Coyote programs moving in the right direction. My 2 year old loves the Coyotes and I'm happy they are giving all of us a reason to rekindle the sheer excitment and unwavering support like she has for USD. Yotes forever!!

What a great day to be a Yote. DDays win, VB beats SDSU! Haven't read through everything yet but not very classy of Miss St to trash the locker room. Also saw a close up picture of T Star hit on QB and did not look head to head or even should have drawn a penalty to me. You make the call. Looks pretty clean to me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcdQuwVyNuc

They are. State football finals are November 8-10, so it would be the Montana game affected by that Saturday. The high school championships were on the 10th last year. According to the SDHSAA website the dates for the 2013 championships are Nov 14,15, and 16.

What is really going to suck is that the day we play SDSU is also the last Saturday of the football championships. So we all know that will be an early start time. As I can recall that will mean a noon start time for that one! Crappy!

There are idiots in every fan base and the fact that we are talking about it on here is just terrible in my opinion. Get over it. As a high school coach I hear things like this at high school games. All I can do is try and teach my players how to act. I can't control what the opposing fans are doing so why bring attention to it. Griping about the other team's fans after a loss is just as classless as the few fans from SDSU that were saying things after the game. I'm sure the same things happen to USD opponents on their way out of the dome after a tough loss. I'm not saying it is right but get over it and quit drawing attention to the negative of what was a a great day for USD and South Dakota sports in general.

I just want to say a big thank you to RJ for your radio broadcasts this season. I wasn't able to get to the Summit tournament because of work but I was able to listen to the games on the radio and I thought RJ did a fantastic job. It is so much fun to listen to a broadcaster who is passionate about the team he covers.

I was listening to Coach Boots' comments on the way home and he was talking about how his guard just have a hard time matching up defensively with good teams. So my question is, why is Jordan playing as many minutes as he is then? He struggled to match up with players in the Great West and now as the competition gets better, he just looks silly out there trying to keep up.

Hold on here, let's not get confused. The $40 ticket price is the EXACT reason I didn't go to this game. Why should I pay $120 for 3 tickets to the rival school so my family could stand around the field the entire game? I'm not going to get gouged like that and certainly not going to give a single penny to SDSU. Instead I'd rather watch the game from home and take that $120 and give it to the Howling Pack. Lord knows the athletic dept needs the money. BINGO. I watched the game at Bufflo Wild Wings with my spouse and child and it still didn't cost us $40 to eat a meal and see the game.

RJ just said it best. "We are inventing things to get flagged for."

Great win for USD. I've listened to parts of the first 2 games on the radio but I can't wait for the 1st home game so I can see them in person. It will be a trying year with a new coach and all the injuries but if the past is any indicator, these ladies will not give up and represent USD to the best of their abilities.

It makes me sad that I got so pumped when the Yotes had a shot to tie in the 4th. It is just another symptom of cheering for a sub par team all season. I think it comes from being a Minnesota Vikings fan all my life.
