This way he can go down with the ship with both hands firmly implanted on the wheel. Unfortunately, the way the Yotes defense has played at times leave way too much to be desired. I don't see how promoting from within makes the defense any better.

I was happy the Yotes got the win on Sun. Granted they weren't playing the toughest team but overall it was a good win. Gruis played well in the post and showed an ability to create his own shot which is something we didn't see at the beginning of the season. Louie did a good job taking the ball to the rim which is something I hope he continues to do as it opens thing up for other players on the dish off underneath or a kick out for an open look. It's great the Yotes could get back on track going into the last 2 home games of the season. Anyone else surprised at the attendance number released after the game? It said there were over 1000 people there. I was at the game and I would have to say 400 was pushing it as far as the attendance.

I echo PierreYote. I would like to see people have to register to post, but I also want guests to see the board. If we can't have it both ways then let them post without registering. Agreed!

The women are really looking strong lately. They are starting to figure it out and the biggest upside is that they only lose one player next year so the team chemistry they build this year is a major plus looking ahead to the Summit league schedule.

I didn't get a chance to listen to the game last night as I was at a HS game but looking at the stats isn't pretty. Being out rebounded by 17 is hard to overcome. I don't care how talented the team, it is hard to win when you give the opponent that many more chances than you get yourself.

I know there has been discussion on maybe red shirting next year so he can play for a possible tournament birth his senior year. I have no problem with that. And that shows how classy of a guy Boots is to do that. I know a few weeks ago Louie did a web cast with I believe the Argus and he was asked about red shirting next year. He said he hadn't heard anything about it. Has there been more talk about this recently from people in the program?

No kidding. It is amazing how bent out of shape some people get about stupid things but they are the 1st to turn around and push the limits of heckling themselves. Those shirts were classic!

I'd say it similar to watching a car wreck. You want to stop but you just can't look away from the carnage.

Not only are the Yotes shooting a lot of 3's but a lot of the time it is early in the shot clock. It hurts a team when it doesn't utilize the shot clock. Nothing like playing offense for 8 seconds and then turn around and play D for 35 seconds. That wears a team out quickly which might be some of the reason USD struggles down the stretch defensively.

We will all try and do what we can. Changing perception is a long slow process but with USD joing the MVF, it will generate excitement and people will come and see how good USD can and will be.

I agree with you Yote53. I was just stating that in the eyes of many who are just casual fans of SD college sports, USD will been seen as the little brother. I'm not saying I agree with it, I'm just giving my perception of how many people feel. It will be a great feeling when USD is done with transition and can finally be called a full fledged D1 school. However, until that happens and USD beats quality D1 opponents on a regular basis, USD will not get the respect they deserve.

I voted no because CF's thoughts about the games are something that generates discussion. But please CF don't make your posts about how you are the superior fan in the entire Yote community. That is something I don't enjoy reading.

I hope the field is frozen by then because that cow pasture will be torn to crap by Nov 17. As for USD having to play at SDSU first, that is sadly what I expected. They have been D1 longer and until USD can compete and beat them on a regular basis, USD will be looked upon as SDSU's little brother in eyes of many of many in the area.

Agreed. The more people in the seats, the easier it is to convince the Summit League to keep the tourney in SF. It would be great to drive to SF and watch USD when they start playing in the tourney. Watching in person is way better than listening on the radio. (Sorry RJ)
