I'm a South Carolina fan and looking forward to the game on Sunday. I visited your state when we played in the Sioux Falls Regional in 2016. Thanks for posting. You have any insight into this game? What does your fan base anticipate from us? I imagine we're not on your radar much and you'll probably be wondering just who are these people and what are they doing in our arena. I hope we'll leave a good impression. Games like this are nothing but a positive for our 'Yotes.

None of these players were on the radar as far as anybody here was aware of. Nice to find some talented surprises pop up on signing day. There's an article about Witte and Verley's decision to commit to USD in today's Argus that makes for an interesting read.

These players certainly have brought nothing but positives this season. They have set a very high standard for future Coyote teams and will leave a lasting legacy as the team that raised the profile of USD volleyball to front page news. Congratulations on an absolutely tremendous year and thank you for a memorable season.

Not much to say about any of the last few games as it's pretty hard to extrapolate much from playing Coppin State or an NAIA school that lost by 30 to Dakota Wesleyan ... but one thing that did stand out to me from the tail end of that Montana game is that Hempe's handle is very intriguing at her size. Could be a real player if she keeps developing. That was mentioned by a few of us during the game. Some quick, subtle moves tossed in there. Coach P said last spring that she might be able to provide immediate help this season, but then the injury obviously set her back.

I checked out his hudl site: 370 lb bench and a 525 lb deadlift for a 190 lb running back...that is pushing and pulling some impressive iron.

26-14 first Q. Korngable doing her best Allison impression with some athletic slashing to the basket. Frederick scoring in the paint well. Not super impressed by us letting Griz players get good looks at the rim. We are forcing turnovers, but allowing some pass penetration, I think. I think Korngable is the most improved player on the roster. She's playing with much more confidence and has become a major scoring threat off the bench, especially from beyond the three point line. UM had some good post players and when they went big it was tough to handle. Their post to post passing was exceptional.

We win and we host! I don't know much of anything about volleyball, but it seemed we just got more dominant the longer we played. The 'Yotes were running them off the court at the end.

Well, THIS is curious: Yikes! Wisconsin is 6-3, but all three losses were to the only P-5 schools on their schedule. We don't need Wisconsin looking for a new head coach....The Bison could be turning a corner, too. Also, the graphic says "Braves" instead of "Badgers" curious, indeed. Don't even go there.

There is a lot more to playing for one of the academies than playing for any other school in America. The Air Force Academy is in Colorado Springs and 10-2 this year in the Mountain West, but are unhappy because one of those losses came at the hands of the Naval Academy. That means even though they beat Army no chance at the Commander and Chiefs Trophy. The CIC trophy is a bigger deal to an AFA, USNA, West Point player than a conference championship. An Academy football player is a Military Officer in Training first, a student second, and a football player third. Bottom line, if Martin has wanted to go to an Academy he would even if he had committed to Alabama, because an Academy player doesn't dream of the NFL but of being an officer in the U.S. Military. For those of you who don't know what that means, when you go to one of the Academies you are swearing an oath saying you are will to give your life for your fellow Americans way of life. They want to flying jets, jump out of planes, ply the oceans depths, as their life goals. If he wants the AFA, God Bless him and wish him well. Can't argue with any of this one bit.

Although we didn't look great the first half, I thought we adjusted to their style of play and did a nice job in the second half. Finally hit some threes and I don't believe we missed a free throw after the break. ASU was extremely aggressive to the point of being reckless and out of control both offensively and defensively and they never backed off. It was about as physical a game as I've seen and I'm glad no one got hurt because there were sure some bodies flying. I was worried when Hagedorn was smoked from behind and knocked into the bleachers on that one breakaway. This would have been a very tough game to officiate and I think they did about as well as could be expected. One of the refs even got decked once. ASU was a lot better team than their record would indicate given the competition they've played and never having played a home game thus far this season. I imagine these are hard games to get up for with finals looming, but one big positive is that the bench players are seeing a lot of minutes which should pay off in the long haul.

So I'm a little surprised there is nothing on the men's game tonight. No preview on goyotes.com, no game day tweet, or really any tweet at all. There IS a game, tonight, right? Hope so other wise I'll just be sitting there in the dark. Looked at Alabama State's schedule. They're 1 and 6, but that's somewhat misleading because they've played a very tough slate all on the road. As Yotes said somewhere on here, they don't play a home game until January 11. I wonder how impressed they'll be with our little piece of frozen paradise. I guess when you sign to play for ASU you sign up to see the USA. How's that for a palindrome?

After the effort Sjerven put in from the Creighton game this was richly deserved.
