Of course the mods can ban anyone for any dumb reason. If they're banning people simply because they disagree with the poster they will create an echo chamber, which contradicts the core principle of a public forum. I'm glad that on this board the moderation and bans are minimal and reserved only for those breaking the forum rules. I previously frequented AGS a few years ago and have only been back a few times since, but I don't ever recall the issue with that board being threats from mods. My issue was that the MVFC "discussion" is either a circle jerk or smack talk. No in between. No differing perspectives allowed. The thread was removed. It started by the OP posting a threatening note from the admin at AGS. I went back to look at it and it was gone. No slam on this board. Most boards are fine.

Appreciate the enthusiasm for Coyote football and for a new member to the board, but can we please reserve these posts for the week in which we're actually playing the game? I'll track future games here and will put the weekly call in the game thread. That way you don't have to waste your time reading about the future and can efficiently focus on each weeks game by strictly focusing on the weeks game thread. You can always come back here to the future if you want.

GAME DAY! Five dimes has the line at USD -1. The GAM (Game Analyzer Mechanism) shows USD -5. The five dimes line is skewed too tight by optimistic WIU money. This one, provided we don't see the upset, is easy money. Take Coyotes to win and cover. I'm taking the under because of the defenses. It's a great day for football! Go Yotes!

these boards are public forums. They are no different than a bakery that is open to the public. Over on AGS the head mod threatens to ban someone because they post in a way they do not agree with. They call it trolling. That's a catch all usually expressed as hate speech by those wishing to control others. Can that moderator ban a poster any more than a bakery owner can refuse a cake for homosexual weddings? I don't think so.

I like the posts, when they are for the current opponent. I agree. I think it's interesting to see how the coyotes stack up on paper, but looking at games that are still two months out is dumb. It's essential to keep an eye on all games but keep the focus on this week if you want to understand your team, where it is, where it's been and where it could go.

Almost game day! Here's the call: no change from earlier projection. I see the national line is USD -1. The line I have presented is more accurate. Of course the game is played by humans but if each team plays to its abilities here is the result Projected winner: USD Spread: USD -5 Over/Under: 65 Typical Score: USD 35 WIU 30 I gave WIU +3 for home advantage Both teams have powerful offenses with dominating running games. USD has a more prolific passing game. Both defenses are extremely stingy on the ground. This could be a long game with a lot of passing. Lots of yards maybe lots of scoring? The difference is at QB. Im expecting a good game. Maybe the best in the valley. I'm taking USD to win and cover the 5. I'm taking the under. "Rought" potential lies with the Yotes.

THE OTHER BIG GAME
SDSU @ USD
IF the game were played today:
Projected winner: USD Spread: USD -5 Over/Under: 63 Typical Score: USD 34 SDSU 29
I did not give any points for home advantage. SDSU has the road experience you need to be successful on the road.
Both teams have overwhelmed their opponents on both sides of the ball. Close examination shows The Coyotes a little stronger on offense and a little stingier on defense.
Big rivalry game. Today I'm taking USD to win and cover. I'll also take the under believing the defenses will keep a lid on things. Update next week.

I'm working on the full slate of USD games and posted the WIU projection in that thread. The results haven't been update to reflect WIUs game at Coastal Saturday. They looked good. The game is still up on ESPN 3 if you want a look at the Leathernecks. Hope to have the others up by Sat. Will be in Co. most of week.
The UND collapse continues. The shellacking they suffered in Vermillion has knocked the stuffing out of an over hyped team
NDSU rolled. Lance Dunn had 112 yds with 3 carries, 3 TDs and a reception for a TD. They are a loaded football team. Saturday's game didn't show anything. Robert Morris was overmatched. NDSU now has scored 168 points going into 4th game. We learned The Bison are good down to the third string players. The statistics were overwhelming. That game is still up on ESPN 3 too.

Game is still more than a month away. Scheduled for Nov 11 in The Fabulous Fargo Dome, it is shaping up to be one of the 2 or 3 biggest games in the MVFC this season. Just for fun, I have set up the Game Analyzer Mechanism and plan to track the expected results after each weeks games. Right now the teams look equally matched with strong defenses. The Yotes have a more balanced attack but averaging 435 yds/game rushing the Bison don't really have time to pass much. TOP is also an interesting statistic. Here is this weeks line on The Big Game in Fargo: Projected winner: NDSU Bison Spread: Bison -5 Over/under: 79 Typical score: NDSU 42 USD 37 Shows a high scoring affair. Could be interesting with 2 explosive offenses and 2 stingy defenses. Since the results will change with each teams games there is still a long way to go before it is showing the probable results but, if they were to play today and each team fullfilled its statistical expectations we would see something similar to this weeks line. Not sure how difficult it is to pull this together, but I'd more interested in seeing this same projection for all the games remaining on the schedule and seeing them updated each week (vs. just that one game). Is that possible? Yes, Ill have the Leatherneck game up after this saturday and WIU has their game completed. Im also setting up Und @ Montana St. I'll post it here for you. I'm curious about UND to see, after their whalloping in Vermillion, if they are a flash in the pan or a real contender. Next week will help a lot with that answer. If they collapse it's fair to say the Coyotes knocked the stuffing out of them. I thought since it was a bye week it would be a good time to start this projection. I know its early but right now USD @ NDSU is one of the biggest FCS games in the country. It was a battle last year. Certainly I don't want to take the fans focus away from the Leathernecks. The other big game is of course SDSU/USD. Its a big two weeks at the end of the season. I follow MVCF and have since the NCC days. Im not a Bison supporter but I am a Bison fan the same way I am a fan of SDSU and USD. These 3 schools are and have been rivals since the 1800's.

We can still win the big sky title this year and get the automatics playoff spot this year I believe. It's next year we can't. Anyway about the game........sigh.....USD was what I feared Streveler is a dude! If he keeps this up all year your team is scary. Talking to some fans downtown afterwards, couple guys only worry about him is if he can continuously take hits all year. Watching our guys was tough, dbs gave way too much cushion to the wrs. One 4th and 11 I believe it was when your guy got a 15 yard cushion and easy conversion. Every little bit of momentum we could try and muster was killed by a penalty of failed 4th down conversion. Kudos to you guys played a hell of a game and deserved that win from the get go. One of the questions I have is would you rather lose like UND did Saturday in a blowout or like USD did last year in a comeback?? All in all it was a fun weekend visiting Vermillion(except for the few hours he game was played). Did some tailgating of our own but did do some walking around visiting and checking out the rigs and setups in your tailgating lots. The people there were so nice! Offered us food and drinks and great conversations. Had to check out one the the rigs was a converted pop up camper, I just made myself one this year so it was awesome to see. The people of Vermillion at the stadium and the night life downtown afterwards was awesome. Very nice and fun conversations, best thing is our shared hatred for the state schools...haha. One thing we could not really figured out is how is there not a taxi service in Vermillion?? The drunk bus is a good idea and came in very handy as we were staying at the red roof inn. Walked downtown from there to begin the evening and had the pleaser to walk through a little of campus, very nice campus. Good luck to the coyotes this year and make some big big noise in the MVFC, I'll be rooting for you! True spirit of football right there!!

UND was the #10 team when they came to Vermillion. They were clearly the statistically inferior team before the game and that's what played out. Their talent has been suspect especiallly at QB. Their running game is feasting on a weak conference built on passing. What happened to them in Vermillion also happened to them in Fargo. The second half against Richmond was a similar thing. Those are top programs. Missouri State isn't. Most of the BSC isn't either.
I have no idea how their season will turn out but they are still mathematically eligible for a playoff spot. The BSC could be a 1 bid deal however. My favorite for that is SUU. If they get another bid look to Weber or maybe UND.
For my 2 cents I think they play about 500 ball if they don't quit. That takes nothing away from the kind of dominating performance the Yotes had against the #10 team. All it says is they are good programs headed in different directions right now.
Who doesn't wish them well? It's the polite thing to do.
