BTW - I do not buy the narrative that this game proves the BSC is weak. That would be true if a bottom MVFC team drubbed UND, but this isn't a bottom MVFC team right now, so the logic doesn't follow. This Yote team would beat last year's Yote team by 2-3 TD's. I don't think your sample size is large enough. At my last count it was MVFC 5 BSC 2. The top teams in the BSC were demolished. The Bison obliterated the #6 EWU Eagles and of course the dismantling of #10 UND by the obviously way under ranked Coyotes. The BSC is weak, at least compared to the MVFC.

These things change but right now USD is a good football team. They just rolled the #10 team in the country.
I dont think UND is a good football team. They used to be the #10 team in the country.
As a USD fan I'm excited about the season. Our team is ready for the MVFC.
UND fans are anxious to get back to BSC play. They have a BSC team. To be successful in the MVFC they will have to rebuild.

The most fun a Dakota Big 3 football team can have is turning UND into a hockey school. USD did just that yesterday.
USD is a good football team. Some might say how can you tell in a game like that. The key? That's what happens when a good team plays a cupcake.
What surprised me was how Innefective their QB gets under pressure. the USD pass rush demonstrated the UND QB gets confused, can't check off. USD containment of their QB was excellent. Downfield coverage was good. Many times pressure caused the QB to run for little gain.
The USD defense shut Down their running game. I'm not sure they really have one. They have a young O Line that was outplayed today leaving it up to their running backs and they couldn't get it done. With only 1 third down conversion it's clear USD was in charge all afternoon.
USD is so smart to have escaped the hell of the BSC. UND is getting outrecruited and outplayed in both Dakotas. Last time in Fargo The Bison let up at 39 points in a rout of the f'n Hawks. This game was always the Jr Bowl to the football extravaganza of the Marker Game because UND did not identify as a Dakota school. They went Hollywood with starry eyes looking west. Now they want back in. Wheather they can recover and be a competitive team in the MVFC remains to be seen. This morning they sure don't look like it. They just ran into a MVFC buzz saw.
At least they still have teh hockies!

That my friends was the defending champions of the Mighty Big Sky Conference. They are every bit as good as they claim to be. It was a dominating win. The Coyotes are for real, so is UND. All you have to do is keep that in context. The Coyotes are ready for the best in the nation in the MVFC. UND is ready for the Big Sky. Even in a rout like that they offer decent competition. Kind of like programable tackling dummie robots. Set the level of play and have a great practice. UND is set on stiff competition but break and bend. JBB called. He said it was the best fooball game he has seen in some time. He added Bubba = Mussman fortified. We were rolling!

Congratulations on the Coyote win today. Its a little early but I had a peek into the future of football:
Expect a good game, competitive and well coached:
Projected winner: USD Coyotes Spread: Coyotes -4 Over/under: 39 Typical score: USD 22 und 17
Because of statistical superiority I would take Coyotes to win and cover. I would take the over.
Vermillion is lovely. A great University and a beautiful and idyllic college town. I have visited the Dakota Dome many times. It's a great building. It's a classic venue and perfect for ‘Yote Football. I would like to be there today but too many things in the way to take a 2 day road trip. Thank you MVFC for teaming up with ESPN 3.
These teams match up well with Coyote superiority evident on both sides of the ball. More productive offense and a far more stingy defense. If the ‘Yotes control the clock and the ball they will win. They might even win if they don’t.
Last season the Coyotes went home disappointed, but for every seemingly impossible comeback win at the hilarious last season there was an impressive and impossible choke, said the Spider to the fly. That's a sign of a team relying on luck. Sometimes you get it and sometimes you don't.
This is the Dakota Dome. Home of Coyote Football. I don't expect any lapses today. I expect the better team to win. I also have a feeling if it gets out of hand und will have a long drive home.
Go 'YOTES!!
