I’ll preface this statement by saying that I have been a supporter Joe Glenn and his coaches over the last three years; however, I think the Joe Glenn experiment has run its course. Obviously when the decision was made three years ago to hire Glenn there were visions of where the program should be today, but we’re not even close. I view it from the perspective of a former player and if I were a potential recruit, how could you commit to a program when the head coach could retire (for a second time) at anytime? If I were a recruit, I’d view Joe and his coaching staff as an interim solution and not being able to provide the stability you look for in a program.
It comes down to recruiting and Joe’s statement of, "We're not playing with the athletes that we're playing against" is quite telling.
At some point changes will be made and I hope that administration is willing to commit the resources ($$$$$) needed to make that transition.
Again, I like Joe, but something needs to change. Last Saturday was embarrassing.

Why is the student tailgating area so far away from the regular area? I like the student entrance concept, but I agree - you lose even more of the atmosphere you’re trying to create by putting them on the other side of the Dome.

In comparison to last year at this time, they’ve made great strides. Disappointing finish, but a good game. Hats off to Joe Glenn.
I’m not trying to be critical either, but the special teams play is costing them games. Missed fg’s, botched snaps, shanked punts, poor coverage… The field position in general… It really puts your defense at a disadvantage. It’s hard enough to defend against a team like Youngstown, but if you put their offense in positions to succeed….Forget about it.
Three phases of the game – Offense, defense & special teams. Special teams is clearly lagging.

Yote 53 - I assume the Howling Pack can expect an unsolicited check for $120 then?
Looked for you Saturday. Obviously you weren’t there.

Why not try Earl at this point in the season? Not a lot to lose plus he could get some playing time to prepare for next year. However, not sure if it’s going to matter who plays QB considering our Defense is giving up 200 yards rushing per game. Currently our D is last in the MV in: Total D, Rushing D, Scoring D, & Red Zone D. Currently 6th in pass D. I know everyone has been all over Wes, but what about Petrino?

I haven't been a fan of JVM, but there's no need to take shots at him like that... I agree, Earl should get shot, but seriously -

Our defense took 98 snaps. I get tired just thinking about it. Conversely, our offense had 45 snaps.
Hats off to Montana for their sugar huddle game plan to prevent substitutions. Expect to see that again this year.

Q: Why do those that actually do graduate from NDSU keep their diplomas on their dashboards?
A: So they can park in handicap spaces.

In the past ten years huge strides have been made by enhancing the game day experience and moving the game against a reigning natl champion makes zero sense.
I think you need to continue to enhance the game day experience and market that, as ten years ago there wasn’t a game day experience. Alumni remember the lack of game day experiences versus what has been created.

Yote53 – I’m predicting less fans than you did as this game coincides with the pheasant opener.
Honest question – Why are people that don’t follow the team now suddenly going to go to a football game because it’s in SF? You’re chasing the same people that didn’t attend games while they were attending USD. What’s going to make them go now? Convenience? T. Denny Sanford putting his name on it? I doubt it. What’s next, Omaha? Makes more sense actually – More alumni if that’s the litmus test for moving games.
The game belongs in Vermillion. Figure out how to get more people to Vermillion rather than attempting to appeal to a market that doesn’t support you in the first place.

There is no reason to cater to NDSU fans or to a disengaged Sioux Falls market that has shown minimal support in the past for USD. I understand “trying to do something different”. Try enhancing the game day experience and market that to the SF market to watch games in VERMILLION – That would be a change.
It’s a 50 mile drive from SF to Vermillion. Get in the car and drive to Vermillion. Support the local businesses in Vermilion. Support the Coyotes in Vermillion. Taking money out of a small college town that depends on events such as football games is frankly incomprehensible.

Just because USD hasn't done well on the road under a past regime necessarily means that will continue. If Glenn gets the guys to truley take a me against the world approach they can definately be successfull anywhere they play. Coaching is a vital aspect of a program and IMO can make up for a slightly lesser athlete. I believe that a truley good coach can take inferior athletes and win with them over a team of very good athletes and very poor coaching. A kinder, gentler, supportive, optimistic Coyotefan? New Year’s resolution?
