How in the hell are we losing this game? Clean up the mental mistakes, for one. Camp needs to pick it up The only way KU got that TD is they had a short field. Somehow we've been plagued with bad field position even though KU didn't get a first down in the first quarter. This is surreal to watch. So frustrating. The defense has been all we could ask for and then some. O-line is giving us a strong run game and all the time in the world for Camp. But we go into half down 7-0. Should be winning by at least 7.

Camp has all the time a QB needs and has no idea what to do with it. Tucks it every time. I think he has gone downfield one time, on his first play, and gave up after overthrowing his man horribly. Agreed that he is the one weak link so far tonight.

That's a pretty green OL. Hopefully the spring season helped get these guys some needed experience. The OL is a tough place to start 3 freshman. As always, if that group can be productive, I like our skilled talent. Need to keep Camp upright and healthy to be able to do some damage in the Valley this year. I feel like we have fielded a very green O line for years now. My mind might be playing tricks, but it seems like we tend to have a couple freshmen out there. I didn't look to see if any of them played spring ball and actually do have experience though.

I'm expecting a close game. Kansas is a program that is perpetually lost, and is somehow in turmoil even by their standards. We may not have looked good in the spring but I think anyone can look good against Kansas.

The last two posts are correct. I eagerly await that first depth chart each year and it isn't available until the week of the game, since it's part of the game notes that come out on like Tuesday/Wednesday before each game.

I don't know why DU and some of the "outliers" have such a problem with the "Dakota-centric" conference. Every conference needs stability and support and the Dakota schools provide that. Without the Dakota schools this conference would have dissolved a long time ago. Instead it is building, solid in its core, and getting better and more competitive. There was a time where every school in the conference would have jumped to another conference without a second thought if they got an invite. Now, I'm not so sure that is the case. The Summit is quickly chasing down and passing other mid-major conferences. There was also a time when the Summit would admit any warm body that wanted in the conference. That is no longer the case either. The conference can be more selective, as we have seen already with the Augustana situation. A simple look at the map and you can see it's not a bad setup for travel for a mid-major conference based west of the Mississippi River. I-29 connects all the Dakota schools. I-35 intersects and connects ORU, UMKC, and UST. I-80 connects the conference east to west. Yeah, DU is on the western flank and the travel is tougher on them but some school is always going to be on the edge of the boundary. UND is on the northern tip and travel for them to Denver, Tulsa, and Macomb can't be easy either. Interstates aren't relevant when schools have to fly over them. I'm sure ORU isn't okay that they are driving over 10 hours to St Thomas since it's all I-35. Denver doesn't feel connected to the Summit just because I-80 takes them to Omaha. The conference remains on shaky ground with a very small core. WIU could close down, UMKC and ORU left once already, and UNO has already tried to leave multiple times. I'd expect St Thomas will leave as well once they get D1 facilities. We've always been able to claim superiority over other small or mid-majors, but are also always dangerously close to the brink of running back to the Big Sky. No one will ever want to be in a Dakota-centric conference unless we start inviting NSU and Augie. The Dakotas are not attractive to anyone but a very select few.

Without reading, I agree that his legacy is mixed. I give him credit for letting Sioux Falls and the Dakota schools do their thing, and also for seeing the potential in St Thomas. I'm largely critical of everything else I witnessed the past several years. Expansion has effectively been limited to pursuing schools who were chased to worse situations. There was a period where I wasn't sure the league would survive. I believe it would have folded if Denver had any respectable options, ORU didn't fall flat in Southland baseball, and/or WIU didn't have their budget issues (even IUPUI and IPFW found Horizon invites). I look forward to seeing what new leadership may bring.

goyotes.com had this story about Kody Case finally being back injury free and at full speed. He is a difference maker. That's big if true. The few times we have seen him he has easily been an all-conference talent.

With all the realignment talk going on, will the Yotes W over the Jayhawks be count as a win over a Big 12 team or a Big 10 team? MAC?

In doing my reading this morning it seems there is a 21 year old representing Sweden (despite living their whole life in the US) that has taken the sport by storm and already set the world record. That preview was absolutely gushing about that guy. They don't just give you the medal for being the favorite though. Chris has a shot at gold.

If I'm reading the schedule right, there are two rounds. The first round is on Saturday starting at 9 AM Japan time. Then the top 12 vaulters advance to the final, which is on Tuesday 8/3 at 7 PM Japan time.
It appears they are 14 hours ahead of us (I'm typing this at 8 AM and it's 10 PM there). That would put the final at 5 AM on 8/3 for us.

Well this is interesting news. Little QB competition in fall camp. I like it! Our last B1G transfer QB worked out pretty well..... I'll take the same stance I had with whoever transferred from Iowa State that everyone liked. Can't get excited until they're on the field.
