It's nice that we were able to contract with Mick to do this kind of article. I've always felt he was a very good writer, both in style and substance, but was always handcuffed some by the Argus. Now that he can turn is full attention to the Coyotes we should be privy to some great articles and insights in the future.

This is the kind of article where Mick really shines. Good substance, good interviewer, good writing. He found the right anecdotes that illustrate Allison. Hopefully he gets an extension. I think the contract was just this year so far.

Mick is a great writer on pieces like this. Much better writer than talker, and that is not a slight to him. Glad to see him get some work after the Argus let him go.

funny clip! we'll have to post that article when it comes out. Even if Monica is the "tree waving the stick in the background" to Allison's "ballerina", I think we have seen a lot of growth in Monica's game this year. A lot more arc attempts, steals, etc. She is growing from a solid role-player to a standout athlete on this team, IMO.
*edit - I guess the story is out!

Nice catch! He has us as a #11 seed, and SDSU in the "first four out". Last year the Jacks got a #6 seed, and we got a #8. I can't help but think optimistically that we could improve on that #8 seed. Too many unknowns yet, of course. Our tremendous non-conference upsets really helped the national profile last year. No guarantee of upsets, no matter how good this team is. I have a good feeling that we would qualify for an at-large again, if it had to come to that. #11 wouldn't be terrible, though. Much easier to get into the sweet 16 than an 8 or 9 seed!

As ridiculous as it is to have a braketology 3 weeks before the season starts, I would have liked to have had 2 Summit teams in there right from the start (it would speak to perceptions). But alas, SDSU has let me down yet again...

But alas, SDSU has let me down yet again... It goes with the burden of not being picked to win the conference. It also an indication that the Summit could be overlooked again for the 2 team inclusion.

A team other than SDSU (us too if we get in) needs to get a first rd win to keep getting two into the Dance. We'll go back to being a one bid league pretty fast if we don't produce in the Tournament semi-frequently as a Conference AQ or at-large. We are all in the same boat, the Summit League. That means doing our best, besides just winning the SLT, in building up the resume to get the best seed we can for the Tournament.Would like to see the other members (we have to continue to do our part too) get some more good wins too, that elevates the whole Conference more.Everyone have a great OOC season, then its back to beating each other up.
