Nerdstat from Jeremy Hoeck:
USD women's basketball gets an average of 56 points (76% of scoring) from sophomores & freshmen. Most in the Summit League. And yet, USD is 8-2.

Zimmer article on the game. Every article has to include Miller is hurt, yet leaves out USD's top returning players are out for the year. It will be a convenient excuse for them all year if they lose. How many times have we heard that USD was nothing but a one player show with Seekamp? Looks like that one player show may be the team up north.

How many pre-season all conference players was SDSU supposed to have this year? They only lost one of them, right? Hmmm...

Not specifically about Coyote basketball, but something I was irritated listening to from Keloland Sports on Monday: www.keloland.com/news/article/sports/monday-sports-broadcast---january-23rd "after falling to rival South Dakota on New Year's Eve, SDSU's won six straight games, and sits atop the Summit League Women's Basketball standings." I had to look it up, and sure enough, they are 7-1 and we are 6-1. It helps that with nine teams in the league the scheduling is a little unbalanced. Right now SDSU is the only team that has played 8 conference games. I guess the local sports decided to take the opportunity to crow about them being "at the top" during this 5-day window until we put them back into a tie/head-to-head loss on Thursday.
