She's at least the fourth. Two are at USD. One is at Sioux Falls. That one is at Augie. There is still a fifth Duffy sister at St Thomas More HS (underclassman). Plus there is a little brother even younger. Big family! The father played at Dakota Wesleyan. And another Arens sis on the way, too.... We also have a verbal commitment from Maddie Guebert's little sis Macy.

I'm guessing you were trying to post the coach's corner from yesterday?

For those that can't watch the interview: (paraphrased)
Jay: On Thurs The Coyotes beat SDSU in Frost Arena. That 's a tough place to play. Do you and your team have an appreciation of what you accomplished there? We certainly understand how difficult it is. I feel like it was a great opportunity for us: being in an environment that gets us better. We're thankful for the fans that came out. Now, not many of them were necessarily on OUR side, but it created a great environment for our ladies to be a part of.
You got off to a great start. What was working early on? We did a good job of containing SDSU's offense. That was working for us until late in the game, but it allowed us to build a lead.
How about Kate Liveringhouse? Hit her first eight shots on the way to her game-high 20 points. Did you see that coming? (her points) weren't all right around the rim, either. A lot of them were stretching from the perimeter. During the course of the game, you think maybe they (Jacks) were over-helping off of her, but when you look at the film, they were contested shots! Ellie Thompson was flying at her and making her shot tough. Kate was fortunate enough to hit them, and that gave us momentum.
You were up 5 at the break, up 8 after the 3rd, you knew SDSU was probably going to make a charge, and they did. They cut the lead down to as little as one. What were the keys to closing that game out? It was not an easy thing to do. The most impressive thing our ladies did in that environment was take care of the basketball. Last year at Frost Arena we scored at a 44% clip, just like this year, but this year we got 12 more shots. Last year we turned it over 17 times. This year: 5 times. That was really important to us, just to "get shots". Even when they weren't falling, we need to be able to get opportunities.

Coach P part II:
Then you went to Denver. The quick turn-around after a game like that has got to be difficult with little prep time. Did you emphasize that going in? Yes, because Denver had just scored 93 points in the previous game. They hit 18 3's in that game. We knew we had our hands full going out there, and taking away arc shot opportunities. We had also just come off of an emotional win. We try to keep it as un-emotional as just going about a regular day, going about your business. But when that game is being talked about by the entire state for a long time, its hard to make it NOT an emotional game.
Those two things we were very aware of. We needed to get off to a great start, and we were fortunate enough to do that.
How do you go into a game like that, where a team like Denver, or Western Illinois is hitting the 3? How do you make defending the perimeter a top priority? Getting through screens, getting ball pressure is important. But what makes teams like Denver or Western Illinois really challenging is that they will also get a lot of penetrate-kick opportunities. So you have to to a good job of getting (perimeter) ball pressure AND try to limit penetration 1-on-1. That's really tough to do.
Late in the game at SDSU we didn't do a great job in those situations, because they got to the rim against us. We don't want to give anything up, but you are limiting opportunities You have to decide how you are going to do both.

Coach P part III:
Jaycee Bradley made her return and finished with an efficient team-high 17 points. Is she 100%? She's very close. And that's great for us to see. I thought there were two "plays of the game" for us offensively at Frost. When they went to a zone, and we were getting shots, but not making them, Kate hit a short corner shot, which settled us down a bit. And then late in the game when we were up 2, shot clock winding down, then Jaycee got a back-cut opportunity around the rim and finished it over Ellie Thompson. That was a really big play. To have Jaycee get back and at full strength is really important for us.
You're back at home this week for a pair. On Thurday with Western Illinois. We all remember what happened last time, but we also remember just how explosive and dangerous this team can be. What do you have to do to beat them again? Now we're playing against a team that's 3rd in the nation in 3-pointers made. A team that's very explosive. They get to the free-throw line extremely well. At their place last year they got to the line 18 times, 20 times in the SCSC. So what we need to do, again, is the same as Denver. Get out to arc shooters, and also limit opportunities at the rim without fouling them. That's a challenge to do.
We remember when they came out here last year and beat us, so we know they're an explosive offensive team, and defensively they turn their opponents over and block shots. Our players are going to have to be at their best to compete with them.
