www.argusleader.com/story/sports/college/university-of-south-dakota/2017/10/19/getting-better-key-usd-women/775443001/This is a season preview article from today. It sounds like there are a few competitive new comers which is always nice to hear about. This year will be the debut of Dawn's recruits. If there was one question about the team to me it would be whether Dawn will have more success with Amy's recruits or her own. The obvious answer would seem to be her own recruits but we know about legendary coach Williams and she wasn't exactly minced meat. Dawn has that chamber filled with a few more bullets this year then when she started last year especially since Alison Arens was unproven at that time. Has anyone heard about the status regarding who may or may not red shirt this season?

Nice video feature on Asst coach Kayla Tetschlag:
She also details how she used her contacts to help Abby Fogg land a spot on a pro team. Great stuff!

From the interview: If they can maintain their high scoring efficiency and increase the tempo, I think you will see a very high-scoring squad! That's just simple math. As long as they are not forcing shots. Protecting the ball and getting conditioned to a fast pace would be two ways to adjust to Western Illinois's style of play that was so successful last year. Smart to focus on beating the top teams in the conference.

Another nice interview with a Coyote assistant. I like the fact that he thought USD could be the best mid major program and after winning a WNIT that proclamation isn't really that far off. If you don't set the goal you can't achieve the goal. This staff seems incredibly focused on getting better and better just from coaching and fundamentals. It is nice to somehow once again be over looked in the Summit League. The team will really be playing without much pressure. I don't see anyway they don't at least match their preseason prediction of 3rd place. Dawn isn't just a good coach herself but her assistants really seem like motivated and special people.

Not a news article, but watching local sports last night I saw the third (out of how many I do not know) Duffy girl signed to play BB at Augustana.

She's at least the fourth. Two are at USD. One is at Sioux Falls. That one is at Augie.
