Thanks for posting that. I thought Blake did a super job with his questions and brought out a lot of interesting things that had never been touched on before. Great interview!

I'm not saying Duffy is as good as Seekamp but to use "she could score 30" as your rationale for why Seekamp's better seems a little odd considering Duffy almost had 30 in the game they're talking about.
Seekamp was obviously a better passer (best I've ever seen) and ballhandler whereas Duffy is a better deep shooter. Duffy's ability to do a little bit of everything offensively from deep, mid-range, post and off the bounce, plus pass and defend at a high level at multiple spots is really what makes her so valuable. She's just an incredibly versatile puzzle piece who also happens to be a great shooter.
That the question was even asked is one heck of a compliment to Duffy.

Two elite players whose biggest strengths are in separate categories. Both have left me in awe but for different reasons. Might as well be a Jordan-Lebron discussion.

I really think you're picking nits when comparing the two. It's not even an apples to oranges comparison, more like apples to apples. They're both ridiculously good, are proficient in all areas of the game and USD has been blessed to have them both. Duffy has an entire season plus to leave her mark as well.

Any time you're comparing great players to each other it comes down to nitpicking. That's what makes the discussion. Comparisons between players where the differences are obvious aren't worth anybody's time. The difference to me is that Seekamp had that exceptionally rare combination of contagious unselfishness, I.Q. and confidence that brought other players up to levels they probably couldn't reach without her on the floor. Duffy's lifting of her team is tied more to the tangible things she brings to the floor.

I really don't see any selfishness on this team at all and that seems to have been a trademark that has been developed and carried over from year to year, sometimes to a fault. Those (or their moms) who didn't buy in transferred. As for this particular team with all the success they're having and have had I would think that confidence should be no problem and that expectation of success should be the norm. I agree with the raising level of others play aspect with Seekamp, as I think that the talent level overall might be stronger now than in 2016, although the individual talents of the players on that team seemed to compliment each other perfectly.

I'm not saying this team is selfish at all. I'm just saying they don't have a transcendent passer/floor general like Seekamp. That's not a knock on this team. Most teams don't have that. It's pretty special when you do.
