If you got any questions about the Iowa basketball team post them in this thread and I'll do my best to answer.
I've seen some highlights of your team and Matt Mooney looks like a real nice player. Of course I know some about Trey Dickerson as well.
Good luck to the Coyotes.

We had been on a roll up until the semis of our conference tournament (which we led for all but I think 12 seconds). It's our first postseason experience in Division 1, so be nice to us

He just wasn't getting any PT.

What would you guys say your best win was? What are the strengths of your team and what's your weaknesses?

I thought we were in the CIT in 2010... Correct. It was so early in out D1 life that many forget.

We played Iowa in 2012... Tyler Flack, our only senior, played 29 mins in that game.

What would you guys say your best win was? What are the strengths of your team and what's your weaknesses? Ok, I'll see if I can get the conversation started: Iowa's best win was probably Purdue at home or Maryland at their place. Clearly the worst loss was Omaha. Which leads us into the biggest weakness of this team. Defense. Iowa starts 3 Freshmen, a redshirt soph, and a Senior. The first guys off the bench are a freshman and another redshirt soph. Of the 350 D1 bb teams, Iowa is the 341st least experienced. So when we began the season, these guys were used to being stars on their teams and scoring points. Not playing defense. It's been a struggle but they are starting to figure it out. But there are nights when the defense is just flat out bad and we give up points in bunches. The strength would be the offense. Peter Jok is the leading scorer in the B1G conference. He is used to being grabbed, held, tackled, and double teamed on a nightly basis. When he lets the offense come to him he's fantastic. When he forces it and rests on defense, it's a train wreck. When he does that, the rest of the team stands around and watches him and it usually ends up a blowout. So how about you guys?

iowaguy--Rather than pick one win that was the best, I'd say winning 4 of our last 6 Summit league games on the road to clinch an outright Summit regular season championship was very difficult and special since it was our first league title in D1 and since joining the Summit 6 years ago. Preseason polls had us picked 7th of 9 teams.
Our most disappointing loss was in the Summit tournament semi-finals to So Dak St by 3 after leading or tied the whole game until the last 2 seconds.
Our team is also very young with only 1 senior, Tyler Flack, two Jr D1 transfers and two sophomore transfers for the starting 5. Two freshman are usually the first subs in.

Our bigs tend to get into foul trouble and we can struggle at FTs even thought they have done much better in that category down the stretch. Are your young post players more athletic wing types or more on the block players?

I watch Iowa play all the time. They can get extremely hot from outside, or they can go into a funk and stay there. Jok is outstanding. Bohannon is getting better and the rest of them have the talent to turn up the heat at times. If they don't play inspired ball, and let us hang around, again I say we have more than a punchers chance.
I'm so pumped to play them. Go Yotes!!!!!

In retrospect, our best win was probably the commanding victory at NDSU. Kent State had a better season than NDSU but I think the commanding victory in Fargo to start our run to the conference title was bigger.
Flack is our indispensable guy. If he gets into foul trouble we won't stand a chance. Very athletic post, only senior on the team, but there is no one behind him that will be able to hold their own against a Big Ten post. I'd argue the team defense we play is our greatest strength. We have a lot of young guards that each bring something unique. Mooney can score from anywhere, Hurst is a lockdown defender, Dickerson has incredible quickness, Simpson is very dependable at running the offense. Lots of good guards to choose from.

Are your young post players more athletic wing types or more on the block players? Iowa's post players are all freshmen: Cordell Pemsl 6'8" 250 is a true on-the-block post player. Tyler Cook 6'9" 250 more explosive than Pemsl. Ryan Kreiner 6'9" also plays mostly on the block. Doesn't play a lot, still trying to figure it out.

Quickest player I've ever seen. Could be a problem for Iowa. Jordan Bohannon is a freshman and set a record for 3 pt shooting this season, but struggles keeping players in front of him. Dickerson could go nuts. He's definitely going to have a chip on his shoulder.
