Like I said there is no link. It is not published. This is, for lack of a better term, inside information, and no, I am not going to start naming names.
Talk to your people at State about how your deal is structured. Don't you guys talk about what is going on? There have been two other USD posters come on here and basically say, "Yep, I heard the same thing."

This is nothing more than speculation, but perhaps the debt service rellates to the difference in the way the scoreboards were funded at the 2 institutions. I believe USD is leasing their scoreboards from Daktronics, whereas SDSU purchased their scoreboards. Irregardles, Learfield appears to be a good deal for both institutions.
Hopefully they get a better radio broadcast set up. We Need An eXpanded network that covers all of SD, NW Iowa and NE Nebraska.

Have we ever discussed 100.5 Kicken County out of SF? They seem to have the best coverage area of any station around, with the exemption of WNAX of course.

If my memory serves me right, the SDSU Foundation did lend the money to the SDSU Athletic Dept to purchase the score boards and in the process the Athletic Dept got the rights to all the advertizing. I dont recall how long this note was for in terms of years. I do agree Learfield is a good deal for both institutions.

Revisiting the topic of radio coverage, I don't know about you guys but I find myself listening less and less to terrestrial radio and more and more to streaming radio through my Droid. I have an app where I can get almost any station in the world. I regularly listen to radio stations out of MSP, KC, Portland, Buffalo, & Chicago on apps those radio stations have developed directly (WGN, 93X, etc.)
I think it would be great if USD athletics came out with a sports app available through the Android, iPhone, and other markets. Streaming radio coverage of games, coaches shows, campus sports radio talk shows, and other athletic dept promotions could be the content. These apps don't cost alot of money to develop, heck, I've seen shows where teenage kids are developing apps and raking in the money doing so. Sell the app for $4.99/year and create another revenue source. Coyote athletics would then be available world wide and mobile.
For now, if you have a smart phone or iPod and cannot get decent radio coverage of USD games download an app call Tune In Radio. The app is free in the Android market, I believe iPhone charges a nominal $1.99. Through this app you can get B102.7 out of Sioux Falls. Plug you phone into your stereo or car radio auxiliary port and your Coyote games will come in loud and clear.

I completely agree-- a phone app would keep us current as other schools are creating such an app--and continue to keep fans connected with the Yotes. Plus, I'd love to have it for myself.

You can get updates on scores, news, etc and stream live audio through your phone. Not sure about video though.

So...what's everybody make of the Midco Sports contract?
Don't know anything about Jay Elsen. I see Tom Nieman is assigned to the rabbits.
Looking forward to the coaches shows and more TV exposure!
Now...if I didn't have to drive 50 miles to watch Midco, life would be nearly perfect!

I don't get Midco either so it does me no good personally. Enough people get a different cable provider or Satellite feed that more needs to be done to get the Yotes on more than just Mid Continent Cable TV.
