Do we know when the season tickets get mailed? I recently moved and hope they didn't go to my old address.

Was told next week the season tickets would go out most likely. My wife was in Vermillion yesterday and they weren't ready for pickup yet.

So, when it comes to the D-line. Do we have any idea the status of Ethan Roth, Max Frank, and Jake Richardson? No mention of any and all absent from roster this fall. I don't see Joe Market, DL, on the roster?

I don't see Joe Market, DL, on the roster? Just noticed that as well. Also saw a twitter post about one door closing and another opening...

Any guesses on who our kicker is this year? My guess is Long. Looking forward to the 'Long field goal' jokes every time he kicks...

Anyone attend the scrimmage in the dome last night? If so, care to share any impressions?

Any guesses on who our kicker is this year? My guess is Long. Looking forward to the 'Long field goal' jokes every time he kicks... It looks like Ethan James will easily win the kicking game battle. James does not have "Bergner" length but was very accurate in the scrimmage last night. Joe Markert is rumored to be headed to closer to home at MSU Mankato. Cody Case was getting 1st & 2nd team reps last night while Reggie Crawford was working with the 3rd team and looks like he will be redshirted with the depth at WR. Injuries to Ed Kennedy will likely end his playing career and he will likely be helping coach the O-line.

Attended the scrimmage on Saturday night - August 12th. The scrimmage was about 50 plays not counting the kickoffs, punts, and xtra point / FG attempts. Also got there early enough to watch some of the position drills before the scrimmage. I focused on OL/DL one-on-one segment, the WR/QBs vs DBs and LBs, and some of the LB drills. Some of my comments stem from the position drills.
Team looks overall better than they did during the several practice/scrimmages I observed last spring. The addition of this freshman class and the further development of the RS freshman and sophomores is apparent. Team passes the eyeball test - bigger more muscular looking players and the speed of the team looks improved. I will put some thoughts below by position group.
QBs - Streveler was the starter as expected and his reps were limited. For a player like Streveler these scrimmages where the QBs are not "live" and cannot be tackled - limit how he looks. It limits all the QBs with this type of spread option offense, but especially his game. He is the type of player that thrives on hard-running and escaping tacklers that appear in position to make a play on him.
Simmons had the longest completion of the day on his third play from scrimmage. 65 yard strike down the right sideline to Levi Falck (he had the biggest day of the receivers) Personally I think if the offense gets to the point where the OL gets better Simmons would be a better overall QB than Streveler. Unless the OL gets much better though, I think Streveler is the clear choice.
I think the true freshman Parks looks like the #3 to me. He has a very accurate arm, quick release, and is quick enough on the scramble.
Tsagalis and Kaiser both looked competent, ran the offense confidently and delivered the ball accurately. Kaiser had a 30 yard TD pass to Levi Falck. Tsagalis had a 20 yard TD pass up the middle to TE Connor Herrmann. We have never had this much collective talent at the QB position. Our #1-2 are virtually interchangeable and #3-5 all have upside.
RBs - Mike Fredrick has the quickest burst of any of the RBs. He looked smooth and hit the hole fast today. His play was limited - beyond the first series and a few other sporadic plays he was on the sideline. I heard the coaches tell him on the sidelines that they were not going to give him many snaps. He had a few catches and a handful of 5-8 yard runs.
Ben Klett looks like the #2. He had the longest run today - 17 yard impressive run. His speed and strength jumped out and seemed the best of the RB group.
Kai Henry was the second RB that came in the game after Frederick. He looked very solid. Some good hard earned 5-9 yard runs. He does not have elite speed, but he has good lateral movement and good burst. He also looked stronger than his size. He was also on the first team Kick Return with Paul Anderson. My guess is this guy is not red-shirting.
Ethan Falaniko didn't get many carries, but on the ones he did he hit the hole hard and looked like a load to bring down. Paul Anderson did not have many carries either. Paul Anderson was the only other RB to get in the scrimmage. edit: Lincoln Gibbs did also get in briefly. Not much to report on him from watching drills and the scrimmage.
WR Riley Donovan was not suited up – but looked like he was walking fine. Hopefully just precautionary – keeping him out. Brandt Van Roekel did not have much action in the scrimmage but during position drills he looked like the best receiver on the field. He has leaned up a little more in the offseason – listed 5 lbs lighter versus last year. He dominated his position drills against the DBs. Beat Danny Rambo badly when he matched up against him and we know Danny is a very good corner. Randy Baker was another player that jumped out during the position drills but was quiet during the scrimmage – 12 and 6 yard receptions. He appears to be the fastest and smoothest runner out of the slot IMO. He also was locked on to any ball thrown his way. I think this guy can have a huge year. Levi Falck had the most productive scrimmage catching two long TD passes (65 yards & 30 yards) He also had a few other shorter completions for 5-9 yards each. Will be curious to see if he emerges this year as a weapon. Trystn Ducker had a quiet scrimmage (one 5 yard catch) but looked good in position drills. He looks like a year in the weight room has served him well. Upper body noticeably bigger. Shamar Jackson - one 12 yard catch -looked solid in position drills. Showed great hands during drills. Kody Case – He is going to play this year. He is very much the caliber of athlete that Ducker and Baker were last year. A year in the weight room will do him well, but his combination of quickness out of the slot and great hands will get him action this year. I think he could be very productive this year. Reggie Crawford – one 10 yard catch. This true freshman has been highly touted – watching the position drills I can see why. He is an extremely smooth runner, has good leaping ability, strong hands, and enough size to play right away. Depending on injuries, I could see him actually play this year. Dakarai Allen and Alonge Brooks both had quiet scrimmages but looked formidable in position drills. Connor Herrman had a nice grab down the middle for a 20 yard TD catch to end the scrimmage. Not much action from the TEs during the scrimmage. OL Starting lineup from left to right: Jensen, Dagel, Scheidegger, Jennings, Anderson There were a few series where the left side was replaced with Wallace at LT and Chisholm at LG. During Position drills they were competing with the DL/DE (pass protection) Punishment was pushups after 5 one-on-one match-ups. The OL won each set. In the scrimmage however it felt like the OL gave up way too much pass pressure throughout. (4 sacks in 50 plays) Three true freshmen looked ready to play IMO – Jack Clement, Austin Wallace, and Tyler Ciurej. If we want our best 9 OL in the lineup – I think they are a part of that group. Would be nice to redshirt them, but the OL needs improvement for the team to take the next step. My guess is one of the true freshman will play most likely this year and if injuries strike a second could as well. Bianchi looks like will be a swing player - they had him playing multiple positions. How he plays will have an impact on if redshirts get pulled. I think this group will take a big step forward this year and in the coming years can be a strength of the team. The rest of the true freshman look athletic with big frames. A year of hard weight training and proper nutrition will have them ready for next year. Kennedy looks out for good, and Tyler Johnson was not suited up with a large knee brace. Sam Ambrogio and Justin Lewis also were not suited up. DL/DE Starting unit was from left to right: Greenfield, Lambert, Leohr, Kline – All looked solid. Nathan Schultz looks like a true freshman that can play – he looked good in drills and had a sack in the scrimmage. Luis Peguero looks comfortable at DE after moving from TE. He had a sack in the scrimmage. Spencer Hopkins had a sack from the DE position. Jacob Headlee looks noticeably bigger from last year and had some really good wins in the one-on-one drills against the OL. Looks like one of our top interior DL players. John Pempek is a load in the middle and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the mix at DL. Good performance in the position drills. Did not see a great deal from Jackson Coker – looks very agile however and has strength. As a pure project – if Riley Peters sticks around and gets in the weight room, I think he has tremendous upside from the DE position. He has great get-off and I could see him developing into a very good pass rusher. Not much to report from either Stanley or Klug. Nick Kramer and Justin Meyers were not suited up. I did not see DeValon Whitcomb there at all. Does anyone know the situation with him? I think he is a good player and needed. LB Pretty quiet during the scrimmage for all of them. We have good depth here. Nothing to add that hasn’t been mentioned in the past with the exception of some comments on some new additions: RS freshman look like they will contribute – Aune and Thiele especially. The addition of Clay Fisher from FS/SS to LB will add depth. Ray Dixon (transfer from Minnesota) looks the part for sure, but did not see enough from him to determine where I think he will end up contributing. A kid to watch down the road (my guess is he will redshirt) is Jonathan Joanis. This kid has the quickest feet I have seen from a LB enrolled at USD. He is number 23 – check him out if you are at practice or a scrimmage. He needs another year in the weight-room, but he is a high-level athlete and I would expect big things from him after a red-shirt year. He has DB athleticism. Was disappointed to see that Jake Matthew still was not suited up – he was helping with drills and running around, but no pads. Anyone know his situation? He was highly touted out of HS but I am thinking he has not participated in contact at all since arriving on campus. Hope he gets healthy. DBs – pretty quiet day for this group. Some good hard tackles in run support during the scrimmage. This is a deeper group than last year and I would not be surprised to see both Jordan Sommerville and Darion Bolden in the rotation as true freshman. Isaiah McDaniels was not suited up and the transfer from Iowa State (Mike Johnson) was not suited up, nor did I spot him anywhere on the sideline. Anyone know about his status? Special Teams: Kicking game – Looks like we have some very talented punters, but I am very concerned about our FG/Xtra Point unit. We have been spoiled the past few years with consistent FGs – In a conference with so many close games, this could cost us. The transfer from Kansas (Ryan Weese) was not suited up. The long snapping was very good throughout drills and the scrimmage.

Thanks, OBC! Sort of a bitter-sweet report, but follows along with what we should have been expecting. The Offense was already strong and is getting stronger. The defense is making strides, but is still a year or two away from having the proper talent and depth.

Whitcomb was just in the tweet from Friday with a GIF, so I would think he is still with the team at a minimum.
