So If the team wins...which i very much think they will...it'll make everybody's night, they'll show up in force for the home opener in Vermilion against North Dakota and cheer their team on??? The team needs their fans as much as the fans need the team to win!!! Band wagon jumpers welcome!!! The more the merrier!!! Go Yotes!!! I sure hope so! What more could a fan on the fence ask for? I'd hate for it to take that 2017 national championship you guaranteed me in Des Moines for the fans to start packing the Dome on a regular basis. Alleluia!!! Let's go people!!! Have to have the faith. Once you have the faith, it'll come!!!

The strongest OLineman Nate ever faced was on his HS team and that was Ben Bredisen who started for Michigan in his 3rd game last year...so he'll be solid against Bowling Green. btw...I screwed up the spelling of his last name...it's Ben Bredeson!

Really looking forward to this matchup. For the first time every, I am with CF on this one. That game really did not tell us much beyond how bad Drake is. We won by 70 points because of the style of our play. The thing that scares me about our style of play is how easily teams can get back in the game with us and the pressure it puts on our defense. We can score in a minute or less because of our QBs and receivers, but we can also go 3 and out in 12 seconds. Bowling Green is going to be like playing a Youngstown State, NDSU, or SDSU as far as talent goes. These are the types of games we have to go in knowing we should win. Take a look at the computer ratings of Missouri Valley teams vs BG My prediction with how the whole season is going to go may hinge on the strategy that the defense chooses to employ. If the Coyotes play a standard bend but do not break defense that hardly ever takes chances I think our season goes south. If the Coyotes play a high risk reward defense that creates turnovers and limits the time they are out on the field I like the Coyotes chances to have a good year. Even if it gives up a few quick scores I am ok with that as long as it also creates turnovers and quick 3 and outs. The D cannot afford to stay on the field and it is their job to get off the field not the offenses job to try to limit their time on the field by being too conservative. Basically the Coyotes have to just simply play aggressive football on both sides of the ball. As soon as a team plays not to lose then they will lose.

I still think our offense needs to learn to be effective at different tempos. There are times when we need to use the up tempo and there are also times where we need to slow down the pace on offense, conserve clock, and shorten the game. Quick 3 & outs are hard on defenses, they are very similar to turnovers. Quick changes of possession puts pressure on the defense.

I would agree with that. If the defense just spent 6 minutes and 80 yards on the field giving up a TD then ny all means use some olay clock and buy them some time. If you get a first down then speed it back up. If you have a lead in the 4th quarter and the ball, use some play clock. You can still hurry to the line, but then check the sidelines for the call and use some clock. It is all situational.

Its going to chew up more time if you run the play clock down rather than snapping it right away even if its a 3 and out.

I think what he is saying is that is not Nielson's style and he will not change from the up tempo all the time offense.

I think what he is saying is that is not Nielson's style and he will not change from the up tempo all the time offense. Nielson made his bed with his offense (which I like BTW) and like it or not the Coyotes are who they are. They are not built to run the ball up the middle and if they try too often they are going to run into problems against good teams. The Coyotes run game can be Streveler scrambling and the short passing game. If works just as well. The Coyotes have to build their defense as a compliment to their offense and people can argue what exactly that means. To me it means running an aggressive high risk high reward scheme that limits their time on the field. For someone else it may mean something else but regardless of the opinion they have to compliment one another for the Coyotes to have success.
