Well, it’s the last regular season game. A win takes away a lot of drama from the playoff committee. Before the season started if we knew we were 7-3 and undefeated at home going into this game I think we all would have taken it. Defense has a lot to prove after last game, so come out with some controlled emotion and let your play do the talking. Let’s go get ‘em.

Safe to say this is the biggest USD football game in 10-15 years?

Safe to say this is the biggest USD football game in 10-15 years? When you say biggest, do you mean most important or most fanfare? Definitely the 2nd, but I don't know about the 1st. We could lose this game and potentially still be in the exact spot as if we had won.

We could lose this game and potentially still be in the exact spot as if we had won. A combination of the two. Big fanfare, big playoff implications, etc. If we lose this game we are probably 50/50 on even making the playoffs (depending on how other games play out). Unless they take 6 teams from the Valley, which I doubt they would.

After SDSU was at Mizz st, Stig said on Kwsn that the Mizz st AD is on selection committee. The 2 spoke pregame and made it sound like 6 from the Valley is highly unlikely.

There are only 14 at-large bids. I think the MVFC deserves 5 of them, but it's very hard to see the selection committee give the MVFC more than 1/3 of the at-large bids.

Personal opinion and nothing more, but I think five teams from the MVFC get in. Obviously anticipating a win against the bunnies and also hoping for an Illinois State loss to NDSU. I look at it this way too, although I doubt if the committee takes it into consideration: both South Dakota schools had the short end of the stick with tougher conference schedules because we were the two that skipped either Indiana State or Missouri State. UNI was fortunate enough to miss out on playing Illinois State, which is a huge break for them.

I am really on the fence on this game. I cannot decide who is the more likely team to win. At this point I think the Jacks are a 10-14 point favorite at home but I think home field means as much as 14 points for the Coyotes. The Jacks play very well away from home so I would expect them to play a good game on Saturday.
The #1 key for me is for the Coyotes to have their same mentality that they usually do for home games. This will not be easy because the last 4 weeks have got to be taking a toll on this team. Their cannot be any carryover effect from the last 2 weeks and if there is the Jacks will win.
The #2 key is to get pressure on Christian. If they can do it with the front 4 that is fine but if they have to send an extra player or two than I think that has to be done. If he is standing in that pocket scanning the field I think the Coyotes will be in trouble. The NDSU receivers were running so open that they didn't even have a guy within 5-10 years of them. One nice thing is that the Coyotes won't have to commit as many to the SDSU running game as they did for the Bison. Plus with the supposed extra energy and motivation of being at home should help the defense the most.
This is what really comes to mind when thinking ahead to Saturday. We as Coyotes fans have to do out job cheering and we can't just wait until third down to do so. The crowd noise will do everything for the defense and will hinder the Jacks as well. With the way things have been going lately a fast start will be critical. If the Jacks get out quickly and things don't go so well it will be a tough uphill battle because they play so good with the lead.
I have been on the fence because on one hand I see our secondary being completely out matched in this game but if the Coyotes can play with energy and get pressure on their quarterback that can negate the advantage the Jacks should have in their passing game.
If the Coyotes can ride the wave of the crowd than all the momentum that the Jacks have going in and all the struggles the Coyotes have coming in will be completely turned around quickly. If the Coyotes come out on offense the way they did against NDSU early I think we will put up a pretty nice number of points on the board. I am not making my pick as of yet but I am leaning towards picking the Coyotes.

Some bulletin board material for our defense. On the bunnies site the overwhelming conclusions are they respect Strevler, but think they will light up our defense. Boys, time to show them how wrong they are about our yote D!!!

If this game wasn't at the dome I would have less confidence. Yotes always play better at home and I think it will be a close game, coin flip.

A rivalry game, a game you guys need to win to be in the playoffs, and your defense needs motivation from opposing teams fans on the Internet? lol
