I don't know where to find it, maybe over on AGS, but before the season started I was going back and forth with some Jacks fans. They were going on about their team and, in making the case for the Coyotes, I responded that we had the best QB in the conference. That set them off. I'm glad I was right! Hypothetically if you were to find it, rubbing their noses in it would be so petty. (you should totally do that)

I'm not at all surprised that he won the award. He truly is a very special young man in so many ways. I also have to believe that the example he set while playing at USD has had a very positive impact on the entire team and will show on and off the field for seasons to come. Congratulations Mr. Strevler!

This needs more attention. Can the Mods put it on the main page, or something? I voted but we only have 98 votes, 2nd or 3rd place. Tried clearing my cache but still only allows 1 vote. Maybe try voting from different locations? (IP addresses)

The player from WIU is running away with this. How is that even possible? Their fan base is in hibernation right now.

I vote once, but honestly don't look too much into fan votes. It's somewhat fun, but usually skewed. It reminds me of MLB fan voting and it has gotten better, but has had some head scratchers through the years.

My computer must be funny, I can not find Taryn Christion anywhere on that poll.

Very cool. The coaches have not only recruited great players but are doing a great job helping them to become men among men.

Was a great article! It is amazing to again read about all of Chris' many accomplishments this year! And he'd be the first to say it was all because of his opportunity at USD and his coaches and teammates!! Best of luck Chris on Friday!! You deserve the Payton award!!!!

They were going on about their team and, in making the case for the Coyotes, I responded that we had the best QB in the conference. That set them off. I'm glad I was right! I do have to say that I thought they were fairly even. I knew that Christion was the conference player of they year last year but I thought it should gave gone to Goedert. I still thought that with Goedert and Wieneke (the conference player of the year the year before) that Christion would have the better passing stats. I was also fairly confident that Streveler would have much better rushing stats. Christion just isn't built big enough and he can't take a hit like Streveler. I just didn't think that Streveler would be as good of a passer his senior season as he was. In other words, I was wrong.

I think Chris improved a lot in season in 2016, especially after that UND game. In 2017, Chris benefited greatly from an improved offensive line, a second year in the offense, and another offseason of throwing. His accomplishments and improved passing surprised me and a lot of others too. He is more than just a runner now.
TC is a great QB. But even a few of my Jacks co-workers said he was far too inconsistent this year. It is also entirely possible the Jacks players hurt their own cause splitting up the votes. Next year will be interesting when he loses Wieneke and Goedert. Much like USD will be interesting without Streveler.

From the article, his hand is in a cast. Wonder if was playing with a broken hand or had to have surgery after the season? Either way, that makes the last few games that much more impressive.
"He will return to Vermillion in a few weeks to begin training, despite his right thumb currently being in a cast from an injury suffered late in the regular season. The thumb will require a few more weeks of rest before he begins throwing."
