I think this is a big improvement over previous years! 10 out of 16 games are on the weekend, and 5 out of 8 home games are weekend. The SDSU games are both on Sundays.
Also, we have 5 of our 8 home games in the second half of the season. For a team like USD, that should be an advantage, I think. Fan interest may increase slightly as the wins add up. Teams in the bottom half might prefer home games in the early part of the season when they can get more fans in seats. Just a total guess on my part.

I just added the games that are either double-headers or where the men and women travel together for consecutive day games. This is a major change in scheduling, and a hugely positive thing, in my opinion. Especially for women's basketball attendance.
I typically always go to Vermillion for the SDSU games and any double-headers I can manage. This year there are four double-headers in Vermillion! I think this will be huge for Sioux Falls alumni like me.
And for those of you that travel with the team, now you will have more opportunities to see both games. And we may just see a few more folks from other teams travelling to Vermillion as well.
What the team saves in travel costs might be a big deal as well. Especially for schools like Western Illinois. Who doesn't want to save money?
I am a fan of that strategy. Hopefully we see the whole conference with an increased attendance, both men and women.

I really like the schedule! For now at least, it looks like the only Conference games we won’t be able to make it to are the away games at Oral Roberts and Denver. And we plan on making it to most of the nonconference games as well. I can hardly wait for the season to start!

As of now, here are the schools that have released their full non-conference scedules:
Omaha WIU UND SDSU
not yet: USD NDSU Denver ORU FT Wayne
I'll do a comparison once all the schedules are out in the next week or so (for the men's too)...

Known nonconference games: Nov 11 - Incarnate Word Nov 24 - at Montana Nov 28 - Iowa State Dec 15 - at Missouri
I am guessing the Yotes will also host Wichita State this year as the back end of a home and home since we played there last year.
Hoping at least one game against either Drake, Creighton or UNI (all good regional teams which should be on the schedule every year)
Florida Gulf Coast visits SDSU this year. Wonder if they might be looking for another game on their trip to SD?

I don’t think they want to get their buts beat twice in snow country

Last time they played in Vermillion was the last game in the Dome. That was a good day.

^^ I'm guessing they add 3 or 4 more to that schedule. Likely regional home games? Unless they are waiting to announce another "big" game.
So far we have Creighton, Iowa State, Missouri and Indiana as the marquis games. Iowa State outside of the top-100 is an anomaly. They should be better than that this year.

Great! I think the addition of Wichita State and Green Bay to the home schedule, along with Iowa State should satisfy our season ticket holders, and help boost the RPI! I'll be out of town this weekend, but I'll do some Summit schedule comparisons on Monday. My first thought is that SDSU's schedule is tougher yet again, but Ours is a major improvement over last year's, and probably 2nd or 3rd toughest in the conference.
Major conference schools love to schedule mid-majors that are more or less guaranteed to be in the top-2 or top-3 in their conference, and we should have that reputation by now to get those marquis match-ups. That helps our RPI too, which improves our reputation and scheduling even more. It's "playing the RPI game" and SDSU has benefited greatly from that. Hopefully we will too. The longer we can keep fielding good/great teams, the better home match-ups we will see, and the better seeding we will get in the post-season. That's why increasing Dawn's salary was a very smart move IMHO.
Also adding UND will boost the average RPI of the conference, too. As long as they don't mind playing 3rd fiddle...
