Pios shut the door in the 4th Q, 94-85. Dominating the paint on the post-challenged Leathernecks. Denver can now take the 3-seed with a Saturday win over a troubled Omaha squad.

Did I say troubled? The Mavs only lost in Tulsa by 1. That would have been a big upset, and probably saved them from 9th place. It was not to be, alas.

March 1 Standings: (and remaining sched)
1 SDSU -14-1-----@wiu 2 USD ---13-2-----UND
? ORU ----10-6 ? Denver -9-6-----Oma
5 WIU ----8-7-----@sdsu 6 UND ----6-9-----USD 7 NDSU --4-11----@pfw
? PFW ----2-12----NDSU ? Omaha -2-12----@den
SDSU is the 1-seed, and has clinched a share of the reg season title.
USD is the 2-seed, and has a chance at a share of the title with a Jacks loss/Yotes win on Sat.
ORU/Denver are battling for 3/4-seed, based on Omaha @ Denver game.
WIU is the 5-seed. UND is the 6-seed. NDSU is the 7-seed.
PFW/Omaha are battling for the 8-seed. PFW owns the tie, so Omaha needs both a win and a PFW loss to get in. Both coaches' jobs are in peril as well. Nelson was back on the sidelines on Thursday, so maybe there was a rush to judgement there. Neither program has overly high expectations, so it's possible neither coach gets fired. Stay tuned...

So our first-round opponent is set. A rematch with NDSU. Actually, it's the only matchup that is set. Our 2nd round opponent, assuming we get there, depends entirely on the Omaha-Denver game. And a title for the Yotes depends on both SD/SDSU games.

Still one more game to go between Denver and last place UNO. I'm going to assume Denver wins, here's the bracket:
1. sdsu 2. USD 3. Denver 4. ORU 5. WIU 6. UND 7. NDSU 8. Fort Wayne
Should Denver somehow lose to UNO then Denver is the 4 and ORU the 3.
This would also place UNO and Fort Wayne in an absolute deadlock for 8th place, with the tiebreaker going all the way down to RPI, which I believe would give UNO the bid. I was really hoping that final tiebreaker was going to be a duel or something.

question: Does Macy Miller have a shot at the WNBA? Zimmer seems to think so, and I'd call him relatively objective.
Macy is very talented, and got some exposure in the tournament, ... but I see her playing in Europe IMO. There just aren't very many spots. Hard to say.
