well. what you got Yotes?
I know you've had an up & down year, but do I need to drive down to this game?
or can you guys just lay down the rest of the year and just win your last 1 vs Sdsu?
thanks, I'll hang up & listen.
ps--- in all seriousness, what Coyote team shows up?? I'm expecting you guys put up a fight, thankfully Streveler is gone he gave us fits.
good luck this week, let's get some chatter going.

I think we've been a lot tougher at home than on the road. Those six o'clock road starts are maddening. Thinking we'll win might be a stretch, but we do have the talent and I'd be really disappointed if this isn't a competitive game.

Spreads like that can be deadly to cover. Our offense can score in a hurry when they get it going. I wouldn't touch it.

I would put money on NDSU to cover at this point. The one thing going for the Yotes is that its a home game and I will be in the stands crying/cheering.

Game features a team with the best line play in the leauge vs a team with the most disappointing line play on both sides of the ball. NDSU ranks first in rush defense while we are dead last in rush offense.
Simmons is 1st in the league in passing yards per game and 4th in passing efficiency with virtually no run game. Offense needs to figure some things out or this could get ugly.

Last year we lost by 35 points. Since then NDSU has gotten better and we have gotten worse. Now obviously last year was at their place and this year we have them at home, but if I was a betting man I would probably have to take NDSU. Our offense has looked so bad I can't imagine us putting up enough points against these guys to keep it close.

If we give up a quick lead like the debacle at YSU or take FG’s instead of TD’s, it will be a very long day for the yotes.

I'll be there tailgating hard and cheering the team on, but Lakes, what do you expect us to say here? There is no point in any of us talking any junk or making boisterous statements about how we're going to win this game. Fact is if our offensive line has the best day they've had this season and we are somehow able to scrape a semblance of a run game together then we might have a puncher's chance in this game. Without that it is going to take some major gaffes by NDSU, big turnovers from our defense that can be converted into easy points, and just an all out herculean effort from our defense to win this. I'm going to predict we get that great effort out of the defense only for the offense to be shut down.

I'm going to make a prediction that any prediction I would make would be wrong...
We were not good three years ago when we beat them in their own house... and Carson Wentz was their starting QB.
We are better now than we were three years ago. Any given Saturday in the MVFC...

it's all good yote53. just trying to get a lil buzz going.
Simmons looks good, your line should continue to improve.
are you expecting a large crowd or will your subpar record and pheasant hunting bring numbers down?

It's going to be a sellout if it isn't already. A couple weeks ago, the day before single game tickets went on sale, I went to the ticket site and there were slim pickings for tickets available, before NDSU fans could even get their mitts on them. With the way Bison fans travel the Dome will be packed. I'm expecting a good turnout from USD fans as well as we've all been looking forward to this one, no matter the current record. A bunch of us were talking last tailgate and we can't wait for the Bison fans to come down in their rigs and caravans to tailgate with us. The scene at USD games gets better every season, so combine the two fan bases and it should be a good time. We're a pretty friendly fan base, much like you guys.

Man, a trademark BOOM-SHA-KALA post from TheBackSackDad saying his kid was cleared to play would be nice right now...

On paper, this should not be a game. Fortunately, games are played on the field. Being back in Vermillion should light a fire under the butts of some players that need that right now.
The O-line needs to get their crap figured out. The mix of poor assignment and poor technique has given me a queasy stomach for much of the season. We have so missed O'Boyle!
Henry ran hard for the first time all year during the 2nd half last week (finally). Need to see that on a consistent basis as he can be a real difference maker.
Nielson will have the team ready to go this week. Conversely, this will be a tough game for NDSU to get up for following what I assume was a physical match-up with ISUr. It is just natural for kids that are 18-23 years old to pull their foot off the gas a bit mid season when they are feeling really good about themselves, especially when they watch what USD did last week in Youngstown.
I'm certainly not predicting an upset, but I would not be surprised to see a close game. A lot depends on the start for USD and the ability to gain confidence as the game progresses.
