It appears Ashton Judd has verbally committed to Missouri!!! She would have really fit in well with the Yotes style of play.

It appears Ashton Judd has verbally committed to Missouri!!! She would have really fit in well with the Yotes style of play. Bummer. Well, it's certainly closer for home games, and they have a decent (middle of SEC) P-5 program. Hard to be mad about that. Gets to rep her home state. Good luck to her! This might be a "don't lose that number" kid, where she could potentially transfer down the road... Meanwhile, I wonder if there are any plan B kids for 2022, or maybe they end up getting a transfer player in the Spring.

Now the question is..... will Coach P look into the transfer portal or stand pat Hard to say. I know Coach P has left a scholarship open in the past (AJ has done so too). I assume that is for unexpected transfer opportunities? Technically there are three scholarships open for the High School class of 2022, but one of them has to stay open for the four girls that have verballed for 2023. And Joy has one. That leaves one scholarship that they offered to Judd. I'll guess they look for a transfer post player in the spring. We will still have Williston, Pep, and Mazurek next year, plus Duffney (but she is a little undersized for post). After that Aspen and Pep graduate, but then we bring in Walker Demers from ND. Who knows. Will be tough to replace Sjerven.

I trust what Coach P is doing. Remember, Hanna was a transfer!!!

I don't know how many classes there are in Illinois, but I have to assume being all-state is pretty good in a state that big!

there are 4 classes in Illinois and Joy is in class 3A wow! only 4? All-state is pretty impressive, then. Whether first or second team. Looks like there are 1,018 public schools and 274 private high schools in Illinois... Will be fun to see if she can compete for playing time next year.

Well, with the news that 6'-3" Center, Walker Demers is graduating early from High School, she will technically be in the Class of 2022. So here are a couple of recent posts:
1,000 points (technically as a junior in HS)!
A couple of recent videos/ articles with interviews of Walker:

TIL: Demers is pronounced "Dih-MUHRS". I can see a lot of announcers at other schools messing that one up...
Also: Demers named her puppy "Charlie" after Charlie Coyote.

We need to make sure our home announcer gets it right at least. So at least 50% of the games she can hear it correctly!!!
