The coaching staff has been upgrading talent and depth at every position for a few years now. I expect the Yotes to be better this season.

This may be a cop-out, but I'm struggling to get too excited until I see how this game goes. If Simmons can get a 2.5 count on a regular basis (which was rare last year) I will get pretty pumped for the year, given the same logic easmus uses above. If he doesn't, then I just hope for a bunch of 45-42 games where we end up with 45, but we will lose just as many of those as we win.
That said, I do expect a W on Saturday:

I am seeing that Montana has great returners, and the yotes coverage teams have been shaky in the past. Would really be nice to have a kicker who can consistently get touchbacks on KOs

That's precisely my hangup on why I've got very tempered expectations. Simmons had no time to work and I'm concerned that issue might be even greater this year.

I think the O-line will be better this year. Younger in spots but these are now some beefy athletic guys that Coach Bob has brought in. These are his guys now.

Going forward Coach is getting his recruits in so it's falling all on him.

This takes nothing away from our guys from previous years. They're Yotes and I love those guys. Just saying we should now be seeing the transformation of the program, and I'm hoping for good things.

We do. I don’t recommend on kicking to any of them. Flowers and Sulser are legit threats to take it to the house on kickoffs. Flowers had quite a few 50+ returns last year. Sulser is our fastest pure athlete. Punt returner JLM is a shifty little guy that has a knack for taking them back as well. Took one back vs UNI on the road two years ago late in the game to seal it. He likes to make people miss. It’s in the dome though so I imagine most the kicks will be high and long right?

I assume nearly every seat on the east side of the dome will be occupied, which would suggest a loud and raucous atmosphere. But, will that be the case, or will the empty west side suck up all of the sound leaving an emptiness to the dome?
