In the mid to late 60s the losing team's student body president had to take their pants off at mid field.

So has anyone heard if the little brown jug has made it to campus? I would love to see a picture of the team with the jug, then have it proudly displayed as you enter the Coaches offices! Why was it not at the game??? So SDSU welches on a bet. Why am I not surprised.

This will be (hopefully) the 40th time the trophy will have been exchanged. The trophy itself is 92 years old. No big deal. Just let them keep it, I guess. I mean, it'$ not corporate-$ponsored, or anything. so thu$, not important. Unless you consider the fact that it was created by and donated to the University by the oldest pharmacy (1879) in Dakota Territory, that happens to still be owned by the same family.
Nothing special.

I hadn't watched the video in question regarding Stig and the jug until now.
From about 3:12 onwards we see the main anchor who interviews Sitg lead off by stating "Breaking down the rivlary and why he wants to bring something back from the Division 2 days"
We then hear the co-anchor who played on the sdsu team that brought it back to Brookings in 2000 state that he remembers the exchange and seeing it displayed in the trophy case through his career.
Next we get the lead-in for the interview with the anchor saying "the jug is coming back, at least if Stig has anything to say about it"
Then we finally get Stig on camera with this relic that he trotted out with pride.
Stig states about the trophy "It's fun to have here at South Dakota state and put another winning score on it". The way he states that implies that he has been having the scores at the D1 level etched onto the trophy alongside all past contests.
Then Stig agrees with anchor's suggestion that we need to make it popular again, and says we need to talk about exchanging the jug again.
So, where the hell is it Stig? I'm sure if anyone directly asked him about exchanging the trophy he would have some tripe about respect or integrity, of which he has none.

I would have been fine with this fading away into history, given that so few people even knew about it. But it's a cool piece of history that only natural rivalries have. Something unique like this should be celebrated.
More importantly though, Stig is human garbage and doesn't deserve anything nice.

Someone needs to really investigate. If recent scores have been etched on it then for sure it needs to be in the dome!

If the higher-ups are worried this will compete with the"showdown series" their fears are unfounded. The SS (nice acronym) is an all-sports award.

If the concern is for the possibility of damaging an antique, There are other options out there. The oldest College Football trophy in existence is the "Territorial Cup" (1899) between Arizona and Arizona State: Here's the original cup protected in a case: ...and the replica awarded on the field:

If they let Drunk Stig handle the LBJ, it should be safe to pass back and forth. Safer on the field handled by players than in Stig's Impala.

I'm sure he gave something to USD instead of the jug which he was allowed to choose and isn't anyone's business what it was and he deems this matter closed and doesn't want any more questions regarding it. To be fair I'm sure he gave USD something he considers to be worthy in his eyes.

As I was walking out of the SCSC tonight after the volleyball game, I was thinking how great the Little Brown Jug would look in a display case right there in the center of the lobby of the SCSC. Especially when we play the bunnies.

I remember reading all that last year and he had some good points. Since you guys like facts here we go: 1. 2018 season record 4-7 2. 2019 season record 5-7 3. 2018 combined season record of the teams he beat - 13-31 NC 2-9, SIU 2-9 MIZST 4-7, Western 5-6 4. 2019 combined season record of teams he beat - 22-37 NC 2-10, INDST 5-7, MIZST 1-10, YSU 6-6, SDSU 8-4 (throw in the loss against WIU and its 23-48) So from what I remember he was saying that he didnt think he should of been the starter. If you were told that those would be his numbers you would still disagree with him? Now I know your going to throw out all the players of the week stuff at me but again look at the teams he did it against and what was their record. I would bet that other qbs that played these teams were players of the week also. As for him beating the others out I think that the Boosters and Alum had a lot to do with it. All the hype on how he was the best qb recruit ever in my opinion bit them in the ass!!!! Hi dad, back again under a new name, I see. Yes I am back whatever that means. Except the fact that the last 2 years have been horse shit. You can blame everyone else but not the QB. You are a total idiot. You attack others becuse they dont agree with you and try and call out people as "dads". No dumb ass we are not all dads that come on here and tell the truth. Are you an alum? current parent? Dont know who you are and dont care. Look at the freeking results. He did nothing for this program that is the bottom line. And dont give me these trumped up stats against horse shit teams. Geez its like I was calling out Jesues Christ.
