Empty seat smack. Who fricking cares? 24-21. Well, It's all they can really talk trash about with regard to the game. Can't make up excuses. They lost. They found a way to lower the bar even further, with some of their fans trash-tweeting their own players. Sounds like a lack of discipline. I heard something to the effect that their fans were hate tweeting some of their players. That tells a person everything they need to know about the quality of individual they can expect to find following SDSU. No player should ever be attacked for any reason, especially for some perceived error on the field, by some anonymous tough guy hiding behind a keyboard. That goes for the team you're rooting for or any opponent as well. If it's some egregious behavior let the coaches deal with it. I've never heard anything about any of our fanbase stooping to such low life behavior and I hope I never will. Just another example of how twitter is the spawn of Satan. That ends today's social commentary.

This is like everything else you read on a message board.....the comments of a few do not speak for the fan base as a whole. I have seen comments from Yote fans on here that I definitely didn't agree with and don't like it when I get lumped into being that same person. Same goes for the few Jacks fans that stepped over the line in this instance. I've talked to at least 20 Jack fans since the game was over and never got one bit of that type of vibe and they all took the whole game experience as well as could be expected.

I don't agree with everything I read on here either and I'm sure many don't agree with my opinions either. That's fine, they're just opinions. But I've never seen any attacks on a player on here other than last year from a dad whose kid Simmons beat out at quarterback and was on Austin all year. Several posters were calling him out on it too. Maybe Jack fans were on the twitter people as well. In my mind the comments and behaviors of some do reflect on a fan base as a whole if they're ignored and allowed to happen.

Surprised they had time to even hit that topic considering the meltdown going on there over the weekend. Cute thread on the USD defense in Smack though considering how well the D played Saturday. Karma is a B**** Our defense was on the field for basically the entire 4th quarter. The last 17:26 of the game our offense put up 9 yards and no first downs. That should have been a death sentence clinging to a 3 point lead most of that time. Props to the defense for making big plays down the stretch.

Since you guys like facts here we go: 1. 2018 season record 4-7 2. 2019 season record 5-7 3. 2018 combined season record of the teams he beat - 13-31 NC 2-9, SIU 2-9 MIZST 4-7, Western 5-6 4. 2019 combined season record of teams he beat - 22-37 NC 2-10, INDST 5-7, MIZST 1-10, YSU 6-6, SDSU 8-4 (throw in the loss against WIU and its 23-48) So from what I remember he was saying that he didnt think he should of been the starter. If you were told that those would be his numbers you would still disagree with him? Now I know your going to throw out all the players of the week stuff at me but again look at the teams he did it against and what was their record. I would bet that other qbs that played these teams were players of the week also. As for him beating the others out I think that the Boosters and Alum had a lot to do with it. All the hype on how he was the best qb recruit ever in my opinion bit them in the ass!!!!

So has anyone heard if the little brown jug has made it to campus? I would love to see a picture of the team with the jug, then have it proudly displayed as you enter the Coaches offices! Why was it not at the game???

Can anyone confirm that the trophy was still being exchanged through the end of the D2 era? It just seems odd that so few here knew about it.

TBH I didn’t know we even had a traveling trophy with State, let alone that it was a little brown jug. If anyone has some back story on it I’d love to hear it, I always found it odd that we never had some type of traveling thing for football. Also Stigs probably been sipping his Joose out of it in his office so I doubt he’ll give it up easily. 😂

USD/SDSU have a rivalry trophy called the Little Brown Jug. Stig talks about it a little in a Jackrabbit Journal after the game last fall.
Check out the video at 3:35 when they start talking about it.

Can anyone confirm that the trophy was still being exchanged through the end of the D2 era? It just seems odd that so few here knew about it. Earlier in that midco sports broadcast one of the hosts confirmed he remembers they went down to Vermillion to get it the last time it was exchanged. He was a former Jack's FB player. It is a pretty low-key history. The 8-year layoff didn't help, I'm sure. The thing I find the most odd, though, is that two years ago Stig was all about promoting the trophy. Now since cramp-gate and joose-gate, his tone seems to have changed...

I honestly don’t remember the brown jug in my era. Then it again it never would’ve left Vermillion. 🤷♂️
