Today's rematch vs Drake should be a good measuring stick of how much the team has improved. Will we be missing any players as a result of the Covid concerns that postponed the game from Wednesday to Friday?

I think seasons like this filled with adversity show us who the real coaches are. Not a surprise to me that in Big Ten football this season the coaches who are really good at developing players and coaching, Fitzgerald and Ferentz had really good years and their teams got better as the season progressed. Then you look at who had crap years. Franklin relies on the Penn State talent rather than coaching. Fleck, sells snake oil. Frost is a flop. Harbaugh's program spiraled further into disaray. It's not just the Big Ten either. Saban, Dabo didn't miss a beat. Sumlin was a trainwreck that got fired. Actually, this year should tell as A LOT about Lee as a coach. Penn State is a perennial powerhouse, has a bad season in a year when everything is disrupted, and so Franklin must be a bad coach? I understand the point you're trying to make, that pure coaching and leadership are showing true more this year, but it's really questionable - especially when trying to translate it to a sport that's probably even more disrupted this year.

You hear a lot of fans say (in a bad season) we can lose every game but as long as we beat (insert rival) I will be happy. Well Lee is really putting that theory to the test. I think he's going to find out that when people say that, they don't expect to lose literally every game outside of their rivals. I expected us to be more competitive today.

Drake is very good and their point guard is a stud. Quite simply, they're a better team, and they just might waltz through any Summit opponent. We match up decently with just about every other team in conference, which I think is going to be a total free for all this season. We've competed well so far with the Dakota four which will probably all end up being nail biters come conference play and, as for the other games thus far, in any given season we're going to struggle against the P5s. FWIW Colorado absolutely pounded UNO the other night. This team, which probably needed it more than most, has not had the luxury of all other seasons where we could mix in some winnable games in the preseason to go along with the power conference games. They're having to learn by going off the high dive into the deep end.

I’ve been critical of Lee in the past, so I’m a little biased. But while it may be a season with an asterisk next to it that doesn’t mean we have to give Lee a free pass. Sure we finally beat SDSU in Sioux Falls, but they were without two important pieces so let’s not get too excited with the one win. We got lucky and we still play them two more times at Frost. Drake was very good, so that one was gonna be a struggle. It seems that a lot of fans are okay with us being less then mediocre this season, but let’s see where they stand when/if we don’t make the SL tournament in March. It’s great to play close games, but you still have to win.

UMKC's leading scorer, Brandon McCissac is in the transfer portal. He was averaging 16 ppg for the 4-5 Roos. Yotes go to UMKC on Jan. 8-9. The conference slate opens with some very favorable contests hosting Denver, at UMKC and at WIU. Great chance to get some W's and pickup some confidence for the 2nd half.

One really noticeable stat so far this season is how the three point percentage has completely morphed from a glaring negative to a huge positive. Starting with the win over SDSU, it has pretty much been reflected in the turnaround of game results.

I told myself I would wait until after the games @ WIU to see where I felt the team was, but it is impossible to ignore things are looking better than they were at 0-5. Add to that what is a fairly weak year in the SL, and optimism should be pretty high.

Yeah, that's surprising. He's averaged 16 minutes and 5 ppg this season. It'll be interesting to see how those minutes are distributed. I wish him well on his transfer journey...seems like a good guy.

He played hard and I enjoyed watching him play. The middle of the season seems like kind of a strange time to be pulling the plug. Since he won't lose the season's eligibility, I would think he'd benefit from the continued play and practice not to mention what his scholarship status would become for this semester. I'm sure he knows what's best for him however so thanks for your efforts and all the best in the future.

I've been wondering about Goodrick myself, but haven't heard a thing other than he was stuck in Australia. That was awhile back though.
