Just saw today that Augie had six players test positive... hopefully we can continue to be virus free! Simply impossible if students are on campus this fall. I still doubt they will be. College sports aren't happening this year. Every move to cancel nonconference schedules is just the same as the NFL canceling their preseason. Punting and hoping things are different in a month. They won't be. The MLB took that approach and started their season after things didn't change, and 7 days into the season the commissioner is talking about canceling the whole thing. The bubble concept is the only one that might make sports happen in this country in 2020. Your resident downer, Yotes

Plan for our first spring season ever I'm here for it, but truly wonder if we could have a spring and fall season in 2021. That's a lot for a football team. Whenever and wherever the Yotes return to the field I will be there. I don't give a crap if it's at Antarctica State in the dead of winter.

You think there will be a basketball season? The only thing that changes anything is if a vaccine is found and widely distributed. Without that nothing changes and everything stays cancelled. Those are the new rules, we've gone from flattening the curve to total avoidance and elimination. Unless people come to the realization that we can't keep everything cancelled forever and life needs to go on.

Would they start after the SLT basketball tournament? I don’t know the answer to that. My guess would be an early March start and playing a total conference schedule but that’s purely speculation on my part. The advantage would be if people bought in higher ticket sales and an opportunity to showcase your league and school on national TV. My guess would be all sports channels would be interested in this. I asked the person who gave me the news yesterday if playing 2 seasons in that time frame posed a risk to the athletes. He emphatically said....oh gosh no. It would be the last of his worries. He personally thinks it elevates the status of FCS and schools should welcome it.

I just looked at “normal” temps at the time of year. First week in March is 34.....last week is 49. April averages high 40’s to upper 50’s. May warmer yet. Very doable for the league.
SDSU might have to bail as no one will come if it’s below 50. The other Dakota schools would play in 70 degree temps.

I would think any spring season would be condensed to a conference only schedule and no playoffs.
