Not much to complain about at halftime either. The offense hit a small lull, but had been movin and groovin for the most part. We have two great running backs. The defense is suffocating. Hopefully, Vander Esch and Harberts are okay.

Hopefully the two injuries we had aren't very serious. We look good today! I don't think it would be considered taking our foot of the gas if we just pounded the rock the second half until NAU can stop us. Shorten the half and let's celebrate!

All coyotes thus far. 27-0 good guys at the half.
Defense continues to impress. I know I've said it here before, but good things happen when you pressure the QB. I'm thrilled that we're doing that on 3rd downs now. Seems like in years past, we'd get them to 3rd and long then go into that soft match up zone and let receivers run all over the place. Apparently not this year! Couple sacks and a pick already.
Offensively, Camp has played a pretty solid ball game. Still missing the deep throws, but Schlafke isn't asking him to do too much really. Easy swing passes and post routes. You can see him maturing out there. Last week, he scrambled 3 yards past the LOS and threw a dangerous pass. Today, he saw the marker and stayed behind it, threw a strike down to the one yard line.
Keep it up boys.

34-7 yotes after 3. Kinda feels like we went into a little bit of coast mode after the pick 6. Maybe trying out some different guys here and there.
Let's finish this one out strong. Get one more score and get the young guys in there

All is right in Vermilion. We needed that kind of win in a bad way. Have a quality FCS team come to town and lay an absolute ass kicking on them. I'm proud of you boys. As Ed Meierkort used to say "hard liquor and handguns tonight boys". Still not sure what it means but dammit it feels appropriate.
I'm gonna go celebrate. Might post more thoughts later.
God Bless USD

I guess we did schedule some opponents to beat up on. Camp made some strides. We'll need to stay balanced to stay effective with our RBs.
I love this defense.

Good news, bad news. Good news: Since 2004 I have been bringing a few buddies to a Coyote football game at least once a year. One is a longtime season ticket holder at Nebraska. About 3 years ago, on about our 15th Miller Light, as we basked in the glow of the jumbotron in the parking lot, my Husker-backer buddy started asking questions. How much for this tailgate spot? Can we seriously come out at halftime and drink beer? How much for season tickets? He started comparing the experience he was having that day with the experience at Nebraska. Long story short, my friend and aguy he brought to the game that day now hold 9 season tickets for Coyote football. My buddy has 4 kids. Oldest is a senior in high school and USD is in the mix. Bad news: I can't attend Saturday. I have 3 tickets, row 5, just off 50 yard line, east side. If interested PM me. This is funny because my brother is an Iowa alumni, lived across the street from Kinnick on Melrose when he was in college (the Magic Bus was in his backyard, some of you might remember that, or experienced it), and he's had season tickets to Iowa for at least 20 years. Last year he came up for a game. He had so much fun this year he's coming up for more. Will be here for Indiana State. The point is we have a great atmosphere and a great experience and the football is great. And it doesn't break the bank. A hidden little gem that more people are discovering.

Did anyone take a photo of the west side today so I could see how many fans were there?

I want to clarify that when I mentioned the idea of scheduling more non Big Sky teams I did not mean so as a way to schedule cup cakes. I just want to see what the other conferences in the FCS have to offer. Some may be easier games and some not. I just want to see some new blood.
As for the game there isn't much to complain about. Camp definitely looked better. The kind of improvement one likes to see from game 1 to game 2. He still needs to work on his accuracy. It was nice to also see a disciplined team as well. It is good to see a game free of bad penalties. Now what has seemed to be the biggest stumbling block and that is keeping this type of play up for an entire season.
I am not totally surprised by the blowout. It is a pleasant surprise but the trend has been for these type of home wins where the team wins by more than most people think. The Coyotes made the Jacks look very bad today and I don't think that team is going to get dominated like this most weeks.
I have to mention the kicking game. The kickoffs are going deep into the end zone. I remember a time not to long ago where the kicks were only flying to the 5 or 10 yard line. How about those two field goals. 40 plus yarders going through with ease and what looked to be right down the middle. Those are the kinds of things that can really help down the road.
If the Coyotes keep playing like this and showing they really give a damn I will be making return trips to the dome down the line.

Did anyone take a photo of the west side today so I could see how many fans were there? I got a photo about 45 minutes before the game so that might not be of much help. I would estimate about 6,000 today. edit: 5247 was the listed paid attendance and I don't think this was inflated at all.

I know you had to wait an extra year for it. Are the amenities and atmosphere in the newly renovated dome everything you expected and hoped for? Also, is it completely finished now, or is there another phase left to complete?

Also, is it completely finished now, or is there another phase left to complete? Today I was in the dome/SCSC for the first time since the renovation of the dome. The whole thing just screams first class and for a FCS-mid major program the facilities really seem nice. It seems like the two are just one big building. I love all the red in both facilities. The University can never be decked out in enough red but they sure give that notion a run for it's money. Love it.

What a great day yesterday. Tailgate nation was 🔥 and the Coyotes were the same. Not much to complain about today, except the timing of the trick play. We were winning the LOS and picking up 5 yards on 1st down running the ball pretty consistently. Hope the CVE injury isn’t too serious. RT Harberts left in 1st half but came back in the 2nd. Despite the score, I liked seeing a lot of starters on offense played deep into the 4th. They need the reps. Need another good week of preparation and take a business trip down to Cal Poly and get to 2-1.
