These guys are one level below being professionals. In fact, with NIL, you can claim that they are semi-professional. We could play in Russia for all I care and the expectation for performance should stay the same. Make the necessary adjustments and be the high level athlete that you are. That was the expectation and standard for the track team when I was on it and we were winning Summit League titles not too many years ago. We weren't given a 10% of our expected time/distance cushion for long travel. Why should it be different for anyone else? Show up ready to kick a$$.

Playing on the road shouldn't be an excuse, but nobody can honestly say it isn't a factor. Take the fans out of the equation and you are still playing in a stadium you're not used to, getting dressed in a small locker room with way too many people in it. You're usually at the stadium way too early so you just sit around waiting. No matter how you look at it, you're just plain uncomfortable on the road, and it should be that way. Hell we used to stick visiting teams in that old swimming locker room, it's dimly lit and big enough for about 40 guys but we packed 100+ players and staff in them. Playing a road game isn't like going to a track meet - I did that at USD as well. And it's certainly not like going on vacation.
All that said, it's not an excuse for not being ready to go. It's just tough.

Traveling is definitely worse than being home and plays a factor into performance, but performance is also very mindset based and athletes aren't totally immune to the mindset of those around them or their fans.

This is also 100% true. The keyword is…mindset. We played on the old Inman Field ( between where the business school and law school are now ) and that field sucked so bad that we actually used it as our mantra and turned a negative into a positive. Good teams take any situation and take ownership of it. My gut feel is we have some strong senior leadership on this team. If so, we’re gonna be ok.

Has anyone seen a spread for this game? If so, what is it? USD -14.5 Realistically, that's about right where it should be. I don't think we'll blow them out like we did NAU, but I could see a 2 touchdown victory where the game never really feels all that close.

Wow that is an optimistic spread. Basically a 3 score game. I hope we beat it.

I picked the Coyotes but damn getting 14.5 at home seems like a nice bet to make for a Cal Poly fan. The Coyotes are typically a good home bet and bad road bet.

I stayed away from this one because of the spread. I'm confident we'll win, but I could see us giving up a garbage time touchdown to win by 14 or something.

Good morning guys n gals! Get the hell up it's game day! We've got an opportunity to go into conference play with a winning record, let's go take it.
My keys to this one:
1) Keep up the run defense like we've seen the first 2 weeks. Force them to try and throw the football then dial up the pressure.
2) Establish the run with both running backs early and often. Get them both touches in the first couple series and keep them rotating.
3) Don't ask Camp to do more than he has to. I loved how the staff adjusted from week 1 to 2 in terms of play calling for him. Give him the easy throws and let him get comfortable back there. For the first time in a long time, it feels like our offense doesn't depend on the big play, so no need to force it down field.
4) Ball security. Don't give them any extra possessions.
The wife n kid are still sleeping so I'll wait until the sun comes up for the ceremonial Miller Lite and my rendition of Fight South Dakota. Have a great time out in San Luis Obispo those of you fortunate enough to be making the trip, it's a really neat area. To say I'm jealous of you would be putting it lightly.
GO YOTES

No line at Vegasinsider, I can’t seem to pull up 5dimes on my phone. It was USD -14.5 on Thursday. Haven't checked since then.
