This is an absolute screw job.

This is an absolute screw job. The only reason they ended up calling it forward progress stopped was so they couldn't overturn it.

Another year of OL issues. The only constant has been the OL coach (or lack thereof).

I feel just like I did after the Kansas game. An absolutely winnable game ruined by a completely inept offense. Give me just about any other QB we've had the last 10+ years and I think we are 4-0. Sure hope Camp finds his way if he is going to be "the guy".

My God. This was a horrible game. Outcoached by that douche bag piece if trash Petrino. 0 for 3 in red zone trips in the second half. Camp to a big step backwards today which really sucks.

While I can certainly understand and appreciate a coach that does not have wild swings of emotion, it would be nice if Nielson would show even a sliver of emotion...good or bad. This may age me, but Spock showed more emotion than I have ever witnessed Nielson showing.

No excuse for going 0-3 in the red zone. Absolutely inexcusable

He was screaming pretty good after the refs somehow called forward progress on the guy that just got blown up.

Other than two broken plays, we got shutdown in the second half. In fact, we didn't have a full length TD drive tonight. To their credit, MSU has a very strong D-line. Camp will get there. The O-line will continue to improve. We fought hard until the bitter end and should have gotten that first fumble call. We can still be a playoff team if we keep our head up and eyes forward.

I remember a time when getting closer to the goal line was a good thing. Now it just fills me with dread knowing that, at best, we might get three points.

Emotion may be the wrong word and maybe I should have used fire.

A lasting image for me was in 2017 when we beat Bowling Green and were absolutely on fire out of the gate. The most Bob showed in this very high moment was comparable to my face when I see that frozen pizza is on sale at the store.

The new Coyotes showed up to start the game but slowly but surely the Coyotes of old showed up. I thought the team really played well for much of the first half than basically pulled the rug out from under their own feet. Why on a goal line situation do you have your smallest running back in and hand it to him right up the middle. That makes no sense. The Coyotes did well using their short passing game early on but for whatever reason went away from it and used the run up the middle strategy against a team that is very difficult to run on between the tackles. That made it way to easy for the Bears D. The Coyotes were way to predictable with their play calling after the beginning of the game and paid for it. Just because running between the tackles might work against Northern Arizona and Cal Poly doesn't mean it will work against MSU. Why keep running into the same brick wall every first down. The play calling and general coaching took a big step back this week.
The Yotes aren't quite ready to be a mid level MVFC team just yet. Missouri State is the perfect example of a middle of the league team. After the 2 turnovers and Yote scores MSU outscored the Coyotes 31-9 the rest of the way. There were some good things today but sustaining good play for the whole game was not one of them. Once again in a close game the Coyotes faltered. They need to play well in these types of games but have yet to learn that yet. The Coyotes play scared for much of this game. It is like when things aren't going well they go into a shell and lose their aggressiveness on both sides of the ball.

I'm glad we still honor the truest tradition that this program has developed at the D1 level. That is none other than watching our playoff hopes die in September. Life truly does feel normal again.
I kid...kind of. Losing this one (and at Kansas) hurts a lot. Gonna have to win 5 out of the last 7 to make it. As disappointed as I am tonight, I look at the schedule and see at least 5 winnable games. The gameplan has always been a 2-1 non-conference record then to take care of business at home and steal a game or two on the road in MVFC play. I always expect a win at home, and trips to WIU and UNI both look very winnable.
I believe in this defense. They may have given up 31 points and 439 yards tonight, but defending is very hard when you spend so much time on the field. It also was the first time we've had to deal with a mobile QB and he seemed like someone that's going to give fits to everyone they face. The defense kept a "never say die" attitude the entire game. Even when they got absolutely screwed out of a big fumble in the red zone at the end of the game. I think it was the very next play that Harden kept with a deep pass and forced another fumble that we got to keep. I'm confident that this defense is going to leave us in a spot to win every game on our schedule.
The other side of the ball obviously boils down to a QB who went 12/29 tonight and fell apart in the red zone. Get Camp to build some composure and we can go far. I thought big offensive wins the last two weeks would have done that, and he seemed to start the game in decent form, but we all saw the big regression in the 2nd half. He's clearly talented and wouldn't be in this spot if the coaches didn't believe in him. Gotta remember that he is like 19 years old and very little experience under this kind of pressure. I'm hoping we get to look back to this game as a growing pain on the road to Camp effectively leading this team the next 4 years.
Get built up again on D Days so that we can take care of business against UND and head out to UNI with a season back in tact. We've got a lot of football left here.
