It is game day. This is the first home game that can realistically go either way. Both team looking sharp. ND black pants, white jerseys and green helmets. SD with grey pants, red jerseys and helmets. Good look for the Yotes. Give SD an extra point with Vegas for the nice look. Ha ha.
Red first, black second are the 2 colors that get me most fired up as a fan. Everyone needs to spend all their weekend energy cheering today.

ND is likely not going to beat themselves. They scream fundamentals to me. If the Yotes play passive they will make it too easy for the green. I really want to see an aggressive D today. Let's make ND have to adjust to what the Yotes are doing. If the Yotes can set THEIR tone and on THEIR terms we could see a win today.

I try my best to not gripe about the officials on here but my God this is a screw job. They take a touchdown off the board with a questionable offensive PI call. Then wave off a defensive PI that would have put us in field goal range. Then they don't stop the game clock after a first down and we end up with zero points on the drive.

Very good first half. The coyotes didn't waste any timeouts that allowed them to have a chance to score at the end but some mediocre clock management killed that. The coyotes have played solid football. They have also played discipline football. ND potentially left 6 points on the field that is unless they have a bad kicker. The first instance they tried to draw the Yotes offside but drew themselves offside. A 49 yd fg turned into 54 and a punt. Next time the Yotes got a huge sack driving them out of FG range again. If the Yotes win those are biggies.
I was very happy to see the Yotes spread out the hawks and set up the run with the pass. I am a huge proponent of running out of the spread. It loosens up the middle. Love the philosophy in the game so far.
Now it comes down to those pesky halftime adjustments. Can Nielson out duel swaggert. Biggest half of the season by far coming up.

That's a big effin win right there. Outplayed a quality opponent and won the type of game we usually figure out how to lose. We moved the chains when we needed to and ran right at the teeth of that defense. Good work boys.

That OPI call was absolutely atrocious.
Picking up the flag for DPI was atrocious.
BUT despite all of it this team controlled almost the entire game. Crowd was engaged. On 4th down UND has a false start and punts rather than going for it. We were using play clock all game long. We ran the ball and stuffed their rushing attack. Lorber 54 yarder was huge. We gave up the late FG but made them use a TON of clock going down the field and kept them from a TD. Then the offense salted it away with rushing 1st downs. That was awesome. Didn’t make the defense come back out and save the day. What a great victory.
Cannot believe Indy St beat WIU and MO st lost @ YSU. And the arrogance of SDSU going for 2 at home in OT. MO St losing is not great for us though.

The OL stepped up in the 4th quarter and the RBs especially Theis did well making the most out of most of the run plays.

I recorded the game and watched the play with OPI multiple times. As the rule is written, a flag was warranted. I didn't like it at the time, but it was the right call IMO.
