I hope they do spread the valley teams around. I would love a team like UC Davis to come to vermillion. They would mop the floor with them. It is funny that sac State has one FCS loss to UNI. Go figure. Mediocre MVFC UNI. The that team would be the 6th conference team in and would still probably be a top 20 club.

Yotes good work on the projections. UNI could be the team holding the lucky hand potentially if they make the field.

It’s very tricky reading the projections, because how doesn’t anyone know what teams bid when they’re sealed? Yes we have track records of teams like Montana hosting because they get great crowds and can afford to bid big $. But I also expect them to be a seeded team.
If memory serves me correctly, USD made a very competitive bid in 2017 but because we were the last team in and Nichols got $ from their conference on top of their $ they outbid us.
We know from the WNIT that USD is aggressive in bidding. Hopefully we can host because like most teams we play better at home. And right now we’re a bit beat up, especially after playing NDSU. I could see them bracketing us with SIU since they can because we didn’t play in the regular season, and it gives them cover if they pick 6 MVFC teams that one gets eliminated after the 1st round.

When I read those projections I ignore the site. That part is a whole other guess on top of the projection itself.
I am ready for Southern Illinois to be our opponent, given that they'll be the nearest team that isn't a rematch, but they have some very drivable playoff teams in their area.
I really want someone new though. Send Florida A&M or Holy Cross to Vermillion.

I'm prepared to be disappointed. Trip to SIU then Fargo? Seems like the worst case scenario, yet realistic. Find out here in a few minutes.

EWU not given a seed. They and UC Davis could be potential opponents as no one else will be in the field out west.

They gave the spot I wanted to sdsu. Great. They could run right through that section of the bracket.

Looking like it could be SIU.

Looking like it could be SIU. My money is on EWU, followed by a trip to Montana or NDSU.

What a boring draw. A conference game, followed by another conference game. And I was about to blow a friggin gasket when UNI got in and our name wasn't called yet.
