Sitting at 16 and 16 in the latest polls. Hardly moved up at all. Maybe we can get up to 15 if we win on Saturday. At least UNI isn't rated ahead of us any more. No, but Missouri State got a bump the same as we did for beating them on Saturday though. Do pollsters recognize how tough the conference is or not? I'm at a loss.

NDSU was embarrassed with itself at sdsu & only lost by 1 td. I expect NDSU to keep up the pressure on themselves and gain some momentum into the playoffs especially with a bye week after this.
If NDSU can get WR Watson & TE Gindorff the ball more than 3 times each they will roll. (the OC tends to forget about these 2 and that's when we play bad)

Someone stop me if you have heard this before... It appears national media have already sharpied the game, and the only conversation is whether NDSU will be in the top 2 seed line. Heck, B-Mac has SDSU maybe still getting a seed, while USD is close to the bubble line. (https://www.fcsfansnation.com/stories/2021/11/14/fcs-playoff-predictions-2021-week-12-nov-2021) Statistics and common opponents would indicate the Yotes are capable at taking away the other team's strength. But in FCS, how the past few seasons have played out seems to overrule how this actual season is playing out.
Which, TBH, is fine with me. I was all for SDSU talking about how high of a seed they should get, and checking on their hotel reservations in Frisco. I am also all for NDSU focusing on home-field for the playoffs, sending their seniors out with a nice ceremony, and generally assuming this is the Yotes of the past few years. That seems to work in our favor.

I'm at a loss. Saw it somewhere in the interwebs, but Missouri St. is 7-2 (FCS) against the 10th or 12th toughest SOS. They are also 4-1 against ranked teams. USD is 3-1 against ranked teams, joining NDSU (3-1) and Villanova (3-0) with having 3 or more ranked wins. SDSU is 1-3. So this then makes perfect sense: #12 SDSU #14 MSU #16 USD

We got a writer saying a team that is 6-3 against D1 competition is in the hunt for a seed? Not fighting for their lives? Is a win over NDSU worth that much to everyone? That's what I'm being led to believe, but no one out there seems to acknowledge that opportunity looming for us. I want to win a conference title. But if that weren't on the table I would want to win Saturday just to shove it in the face of all these writers and pollsters.

USD should take that "honor" from Missouri State if we don't have a letdown Saturday. We definitely should have beat MSU but freshman QB had a lot of learning to do still. I would take a rematch with them in the playoffs with zero complaint.

Frustrations with rankings are good problems to have, right ?!
Thankfully, this team is locked in and are ready to play. Let’s win the game and let the chips fall where they may. I would love a bye, too, but isn’t there something to be said for keeping a hot team playing?

Oh, they’re not embarrassed up here. One of the news stations, WDAY, credited NDSU with being the reason that the U beat state. Said that teams are 2-8 after playing ndsu.

I am not taking away the credit from the Coyotes for the win but this comment does have merit and the Coyotes have been lucky this year to draw multiple teams the week after playing NDSU. This season has been as far from lucky as can be. The Coyotes have earned their record and IMO 7-3 is exactly where they should be. IMO the key to the game is for the Coyotes to just keep doing what they have been doing. They need to keep in their 3 or 4 wide receiver sets and play their usual offense with a few wrinkles planned if things don't go well. I definitely see the under in this one. I see a defensive battle.

One of the news stations, WDAY, credited NDSU with being the reason that the U beat state. Said that teams are 2-8 after playing ndsu. I've seen this mentioned before. 9 teams have had a chance to play a game following their game with NDSU: Albany - Currently 2-8. Following game was loss against good Rhode Island team. Lost each of their first 8 games. Valparaiso - Currently 4-6. Following game was loss against good Dartmouth team. Lost to Indiana Wesleyan week before playing NDSU (someone check into how teams do after playing Indiana Wesleyan!). Towson - Currently 4-6. Following game was loss against FBS San Diego State. The next three teams are UND, UNI, and Illinois State. Oddly enough, each of them played NDSU and then USD the following week. Only UNI had a "down" game. Illinois State won their game. UND was never supposed to win in Vermillion anyways if you look at how the season played out. MSU - Won following game against UND. Indiana State - Lost following game to SIU, a game they were never going to win anyways. sdsu - The only times they've ever won in Vermillion have been highly fortunate, aside from maybe in 2013 (still a battle). So...good for the Bison fans and media for acting like this stat means anything? You want to play teams that win games. Half of that stat is highlighting how hopeless a good chunk of their schedule is this year. The other half showcases that USD is good this year. I'd rather have my team in a situation like when USD crushed Northern Arizona this season and they turned around and beat Arizona the next week.

We’ve played UND, UNI, ISUr, & SDSU all the week after they played NDSU this year in a schedule quirk.
