Playoff thread would be better spot, but if we lose at NDSU I assume we're still in. Home game? I don't care if it's Thanksgiving weekend. Will be there and off the hook. My bad. Move it if you'd like. USD is a lock for the playoffs according to everything I've seen. If we do play Thanksgiving weekend it better be at home. That's up to the ADs of the teams involved and how much each one bids to host. I believe that's how it works for every unseeded matchup. I know we won't be cheap if we have to bid. In the past I believe for the Women's Basketball (and perhaps Volleyball) WNIT SD has put together nice bids. I have been critical of the Admin at times but when it comes to making competitive bids they have stepped up.

When it comes to comparing SDSU vs NDSU I believe the Jacks have won 4 of the last 6. The thing about these teams is that NDSU is rock solid and brings it every week and it usually results in an undefeated or 1 loss season. I believe SDSU's upside is as high as NDSU but their downside is way lower. NDSU rarely losses games they should win. SDSU does this quite often and is probably the reason they haven't won a championship. The one or two bad losses they typically have cost them a seed or perhaps a top 4 seed.
You can pretty much guarantee that the Bison are always going to show up and smack you in the mouth. Biggest difference this year is that USD's is pretty good at smacking in the mouth right back.
This SD team this is probably the most reliable team since the 1980's. The good Meierkort teams in the mid 2000's were more dynamic than this years team but their game did not travel in a suitcase with them. They were a shell of themselves on the road. The Streveler led teams were very good on offense but the entire team was not disciplined and played game situations and strategies fairly poorly. They couldn't hold a lead to save their lives. Obviously the playoff season was a pretty big collapse towards the end. I know their were some team issues there but they did not handle adversity very well. This Coyote team has it all. A little less dynamic on offense but reliable. On the D end is where this team just destroys the Meierkort teams and the Steveler led teams. Both Nielson, the Coordinators, Camp, the D just know how to manage a game so much better. They also play complete games which those other teams did not do. I consider it controlled aggression. They are aggressive but not in a stupid way. What is so interesting about this team is that they are not a good downfield passing team at all. Not nearly as good as the other past teams.
In one word I consider this team "trustworthy".

I agree 100% with everyone’s feeling about this team. Trustworthy, yes for sure, because they consistently give you what you expect defensively in regards to effort and toughness and have made a conscious decision to use their run game effectively this year. Something that was an afterthought in previous years recently. Wins don’t have style points! The leadership, buy-in and cohesiveness on this team is amazing and fun to watch. Just listen to what is said after the games, you might as well be interviewing 2-3 coaches after those games because they are saying what coaches say which is awesome. Very mature.
Having played QB at a higher level and coached football for over 25 years, I disagree though with the thought that they can’t stretch the ball down the field or be explosive. Look at the 10 previous games and see where the explosive plays come from, who is creating them? Stats don’t lie, but they do tell a story. Using your personnel is an art. That all comes down to dialing up play calls and who is getting touches in certain situations and pass concepts.

This is only Marker Games and doesn't include the 2 blowout playoff losses the Jacks had in 2018 & 2016. For better or worse NDSU is everyone's "Super Bowl" week in and week out. This is evidenced by the teams rushing the field, have the bison as their largest crowd etc. With that said, Previous Bison teams have peaked in December. This team is TBD and could win the title or Lose their first playoff game. Not the same vibe as before and don't know what it is.

I said this a week ago. We’ve entered the playoffs. Every game matters. If SDSU can get the Bizun Saturday and we run the table and Southern Illinois trips up we get a share of the title. That’s a lot of ifs but not an unreasonable feat. This conference is crazy. We are right there in the hunt. If the Bizun win and we beat the bunnies next Saturday that might knock them out of the playoffs assuming UNI, Missouri State take care of business. If Southern Illinois beats Mizzou State then the loser of UNI / Mizzou State is likely out of the playoffs. A lot and I mean a lot can happen these next 2 weeks in determining the playoff teams. Let’s GO YOTE!!!! If SDSU can get the Bizun Saturday……check If Southern Illinois can trip up…..check If the Coyotes can run the table…..step 1 completed The COYOTES control their destiny. Win out and we’re Co-Champs FILL THE DOME Seemed far fetch I was told. If the Coyotes run the table…..step 2 completed. ONE MORE CHECK….ONE. ( toughest one of all but very doable )

I’m not saying we will win, but just like last week I’m confident about our chances. Once again I firmly believe it’s going to be a 4 quarter fist fight. Lots of punches exchanged….last punch wins
I like our chances
p.s. Go Sioux or F Hawks or whatever you are. It would be so unbelievably awesome to see the Jacks not play next week.

If the Yotes beat the Bison, we will be on the bubble for getting a top 8 seed, which gives us a first round bye and a guaranteed home game for the second round. An SDSU win over the F'n Hawks would likely help our resume and increase our chances of landing a top 8 seed. This presents quite a quandary.

If the Jacks win and the Coyotes lose I believe that puts the Jacks ahead of the Coyotes in the pecking order. Some may disagree but I believe the Jacks have the better overall resume with a win over the Bison and the Rams despite the head to head loss against the Coyotes. Plus with the Jacks street cred I would not hold my breathe on the Coyotes getting the benefit of the doubt. Honestly the regionalization of the playoffs really hurts the MVFC and the Big Sky. This is D1 FCS and the whole country should be bracketed as a whole and not regionally. If it was bracketed as a whole the Coyotes would get a much more favorable draw in the playoffs. I have no doubt they could go on the road and crush most playoffs teams that don't get a bye from the east or south. But somehow they did draw Nichols a few years ago so maybe it is not a foregone conclusion that they would play a MVFC or Big Sky team in the first round assuming they don't get a bye.

Win our game and let whatever happens happens. Nothing would give me more pleasure ( outside of a win tomorrow 😄 ) than seeing no plane takeoff from Joe Foss Field with a team of Blue in it.

Imagine this. Could you imagine if the Coyotes beat NDSU finished with a tie for the conference title, ended up not getting a seed and going on the road in the first round of the playoffs. As much as that would make every Coyote fan rupture every artery in their body that is a possibility how they handle the first round of the playoffs. If 4 teams end up tied for the conference I have a feeling that not all of them would get a seed even though all of them probably deserve one.
