I'm not sure I agree with that. Who else is even close? It will be between us and state again. There's more talent on the USD roster than you think. I could see any number of teams pending portal/final rosters. It’s not a shot at our returning players. It’s the reality of replacing an entire starting 5 with concerns both offensively and defensively. Can’t understate how good of a defensive starting 5 we would be losing. Hannah was such a luxury to have and Kyah constantly guarding the opposing teams best player(s). But yeah probably equally concerned on offense. There’s a lot of role finding and filling to be done. We kind of go through this every year. We lose a couple of all conference types then a couple new players rise to the occasion. Think of all the players we've lost in the last several years and the team always seems to backfill. Seekamp, K Stew, Duffy, a bunch of Ahrens girls, etc. I think it just feels different because of the COVID year and girls having that extra year of eligibility. There will be some rebuilding, sure. But this team and program is so far ahead of the rest of the conference its not even close, with the exception of state. If USD has played close games with any conference teams besides the bunnies in the last several seasons, they've honestly been flukes. It would take an incredible off-season by another team and frankly a truly disappointing letdown for USD to not be in the top 2 next season.

Haven't gone through anything remotely like this since Plitzuweit's first season.
Somebody will step up because, well, somebody has to. You're returning no real scoring. There's a huge vacuum that has to be filled. Somebody's going to fill it, it's just a matter of how efficiently.

USD will have just as many all conference players as state next season. The bench didn't put up big scoring numbers only because they didn't have to. When you have 3 of the best scorers in the conference, you let them do their thing. There's a ton of talent and scoring ability still on the roster. The cupboard isn't anywhere close to as bare as it was when Amy left.

I love the optimism. We'll see. You've got a lot of single-digit scorers with suspect shooting percentages filling holes. I'm not saying you won't have an Allison Arens or Liv Korngable type emergence out of somebody next season because we probably will, but I'm not quite as sold on the TON of talent and scoring ability just yet.

Great interviews with ADDH and Coach K. Answers a few questions people are wondering about (not K&M though).

Time to look forward to next season. Transition always brings a little uncertainty, but the USD women's basketball program has been through it before and each time has continued it's upward trajectory.

Totally agreed. Possibly a 1 year reset, but still 2nd best in conference.

Has there been any talk of potential assistant coaches?

Has there been any talk of potential assistant coaches? Strictly an observational guess here, but Ty Margenthaler sure seems to be Twitter liking everything Coyote related recently.

He even has a Wikipedia page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ty_MargenthalerLooks like some extensive assistant coaching experience in Wisconsin, Illinois and Missouri. And a little HC experience, too.

That’s some good detective work.
Pretty sure they’re just waiting on the state to make a couple official announcements. People already out recruiting.

Liking a few things USD related recently as well. Wow. She has a nice background, as well. Some high-level CC head-coaching experience as well as assistant coaching in Illinois, Missouri and Kansas. She was an assistant on JD Gravina's championship 2017 team. utahstateaggies.com/staff-directory/taylor-ignoto/432

As a graduate-assistant she'd be a natural choice, and would provide a lot of continuity between staffs, along with DBO Alex Antonen.
