Add Aspen Williston to this......no longer on the roster either! if not on roster, doesn't that mean she has been picked up by a team?

I don't think she's in the portal. Maybe she's graduating and has simply decided to hang up the sneakers.

I have been following the changes to your program and I know how you feel but it is new world in college basketball. We here at UND have been experiencing this past several years as rules for transferring have been eased for players to make changes in both the men's and women's programs. I as fan have not liked these changes but looking at it from player perspective has been way over due. Yes alot of the transfers have maybe not been best moves for some of these athletes but it hasn't been right for coaches or even institutions having that much control over players either. We forget the amount effort time these young people put into these activities to just have opportunity to play sport they love to play. Think about it if wanted to change employers but had to sit a year and support yourself before you could start working how many of us would put up with that. Also what you have experienced is like when your boss has left for new company and he wants key people to follow him and this is what happened with your coach not only was it assistant coaches but now few players. Most people like to work with people they are familiar with and have trust in i believe that is case with your players. The second reason for changing is people like to be in stable organizations and when a coach leaves players may look for another place where they perceive as stable and plays game where they believe they can thrive in as player. Finally you have the players that stay try to build a program but here again you will not know how players may perceive their situation after a year this is again you may see a turn over in players. You have tradition here which helps and fan base which help tremendously but rebuilding program now is much harder than it was even 5 years ago trust me because players are different than were few years ago. All you have to do is look at number of players that are in transfer portal now we have more than 1000 players looking at transferring it has become common thing. You have been fortunate these last few years because coaching situation enjoyed and players you had on these teams. The coaches today have to be much more than x and o they have people orientated and salesmen in getting players to buy in believe what they are trying to achieve and meeting needs of their players. I hope you continue to have success because we need the Summit Conference to get better and doing so there will be more opportunities for all members in the conference.

These two have taken a big greasy shit on their teammates. The excuse makers can spin it,but I cannot understand why. Must be a generational thing.

I’m going to respectfully disagree. While I’m sad to see these two (if true on Maddie) leave, I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s a career move for Dawn and that they are shitting on the program. Where’s the anger for Dawn? Her move set this all in motion. You’re right, it is a career move for her and she has the ability to make a career move that she feels is best for her at this time. The same should be true to the players. If they feel this is their best move, no matter how much I may disagree with it, I wish them nothing but the best. We should all take a step back and ask ourselves if it’s really worth bashing a couple 19-20 year olds because you feel slighted by them. I, for one, am not going to let these moves effect my life, because it doesn’t.

These two have taken a big greasy shit on their teammates. The excuse makers can spin it,but I cannot understand why. Must be a generational thing. If a sense of self-worth is a generational thing, then bravo to a generation of individuals who have the guts to do what is best for themselves. These players are in a situation that they did not sign up for. Your coach is among the most important factors when choosing a school, and that rug has been pulled out from under them. It makes sense for any player to consider their options when a coaching change occurs. I've worked a job where our organization was acquired and we fell under entirely new leadership. You better believe I considered my options when that happened, even though leaving would put my team in a terrible situation. These kids are doing what they think is best. Who knows whether they are right are not, but it's their decision to make. Our team will take some lumps in the short-term. If Herbster picked the right coach we will forget those struggles soon enough.

These two by their actions realized also they are not leaders! Did not want to step up to the challenge. They will be forgotten in a couple of years and people will only talk about the super seniors.
Next year: dumpster fire
Grace Larkin: dribble, dribble, dribble Macy Guebert: stand and shoot Morgan Hansen: gunner Jeniah Ugofsky: pass & foul Natalie Mazurek:
Good thing the Summit is going to be very bad, we can compete with all but one.

Year 1 under Coach K will have some lumps. That's fine, and honestly should be expected anytime there is a coaching change. Does anyone else recall year 1 under Dawn? Finished 3rd or 4th in the conference and lost to UNO in the first round of the SLT? The roster turnover may be happening in a slightly different way, but that is irrelevant. It's absurd to me how two players transferring through a coaching change has so many people up in arms. If we've got the right coach in place then everything will be just fine.

Yeesh, make sure you all get your shots in on 18-20 year olds n their way out. I'm reminded of the phrasing, "with fans like these..."

The team will be fine. I don't like it but I understand it. We just have to accept the fact that that we are past the Era where the name on the front mattered more than the name on the back. It applies to both players and coaches. We had two redshirts that would have played but we didn't need them and some good kids coming in. State is fortunate that AJ has been comfortable with his lot in life. That is the exception, not the rule in today's college athletics. You have to take the long-term view or you will drive yourself crazy. The reality is we don't have unlimited resources to throw at these programs and we never will.

I'm reminded of the phrase "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones." Find me one single post on that board that burns an athlete; current, former or transferred out that burn the kid like some of these posts. Especially, "These two have taken a big greasy shit on their teammates. The excuse makers can spin it,but I cannot understand why. Must be a generational thing." Good lord, you guys didn't even lamb baste the FB players that were charged with sexual assault like this. We may not have cared for Freidel's backhanded burn in his portal tweet but we certainly didn't resort to this. Most are wishing him well, especially from a mental health standpoint.
