Just starting a new thread with a more optimistic theme. No news, as far as I know, but since we’re a program-damaging message board….
Feel free to speculate!

$34K-$44K. Is that typical for this position? Seems very low and unattractive for someone who will be an asst head coach. Can't imagine there will be a flood of candidates.

The only listing I found on the SDBOR website was for a FB Asst Coach/OC. There was no mention of assistant head coach and no mention of the salary. The first consideration date is this coming Monday, 11/28/22.

For comparison purposes, Schlafke's salary was $100,310, Johansen (USD DC) is at $105,664, Lujan (SDSU OC) is at $87,980 & Rogers (SDSU DC) is at $96,601.

Sorry everyone, I misread the posting as asst hc/oc but it is asst coach/oc. I've corrected my original post.
Pure speculation but does the posting mean an internal candidate might be moved up to asst hc and a position responsibility?
Time will tell...

That is the correct salary range per the listing.

I don't see any salary range posted on the SDBOR listing. Please post a link or a screen shot to your source.

The info was on indeed.com and it is their estimate of salary range.

So I don’t know, the board of regents sets the salary. I don’t know.

I think we can all agree that the $33-44k figure is not what an offensive coordinator will be offered unless we are dropping to the Pioneer League or something.

Will the new O Corrdinator install his own offense or run one similar to what we ran this year? What type are we looking for? Obviously there will be some tweaks to match the existing personal, but also with the transfer portal, you can get a few guys that will fit the new coaches scheme.
Do we go with a 5 wide, throw it everywhere style? RPO? No huddle hurry-up with everyone looking over to the sideline? Pistol formation? Shotgun with a run heavy (two tight ends)? Move to more under center (I-formation/ single back) Thoughts?

Our roster makeup and Bouman's strengths beg for a pro style offense with lots of one or two tight end sets, motion, and zone blocking. I'm no coach though.

I’m not sure Bouman is good enough to change the whole identity of the offense…. They have a talented group coming thru that was recruited with RPO/Spread in mind (our make up is not pro-style)… if they blow up everything because of Bounan’s skill set you see an all time record of Transfer portals from one team
